As I have written on this thread , this would be a really useful addition.
Also @JuanP or any other moderators, can these threads be merged?

Could be a December SP update for Chistmas!
Not sure if it's the same in US architecture but this statement is dangerously close to the "you should be in by Christmas" jinx of UK residential architecture. If a contractor or consultant utters these words to the client it guarantees a fatal catastrophe that delays the project for many months.

My crumb of hope is seeing the next iPhone Pro's A17 chip has hardware accelerated raytracing. The lack of this on previous M-series chips is what has stopped Twinmotion's pathtracer from being brought to MacOS.
But sadly I think I agree that Windows for heavy lifting is the most sensible approach. Enjoy your 3090 if you get one, or maybe go for a 4090 now?!

In the OIP I just see buttons to open the Title Block Border Settings dialog - is this working as designed?
It would be cool if you could actually see the fields in the OIP and edit fields in the OIP. It would save clicking and opening a dialog.

Hi Nikolay,
This is great news - could you elaborate a little on how this might benefit the issues highlighted in this thread? I don't fully follow what you've written -

Absolutely!
This could be part of the remit of the "click reduction officer" which VW should employ (an idea I saw on here somewhere a while ago). Perhaps they should rename it to "Software Simplification Officer".
A couple of others:
Title Block Border -> Title Block
Renderworks Camera -> Camera (I would support just dropping the 'Renderworks' prefix for everything)

Project sharing has been rebuilt for 2024 according to the promotional materials. 2024 has been released today so we will see!

So looking forward to never hearing again: "Why isn't P-Risers-New" not on the second floor RCP?"
In my experience new Vectorworks versions retain excellent backwards-compatibility with the pain points of previous versions - so you may still hear this!
Just joking of course, looking forward to trying the new version!

@Katarina Ollikainen sounds good, thanks for taking the time to explain. I look forward to trying it out!

Interested to see the new Railing Tool as well now
Will obviously see when it's released but I don't see why it can't be the same tool with different symbols for railings and fences. In essence they are the same thing, just with different detail.
I feel like there are so many tools that could be brought together to reduce the overall number and complexity of the software.

Really pleased to see it follows the site contours! Hooray!

Hi @JuanP, same issue when publishing. I'll send you the file via a message.

Certainly looks incredibly powerful in the video, hopefully the same in practice! I know it's been a long-requested item but I hadn't appreciated how powerful it could be. Well done for those who persisted and of course those who made it!

As has been said, faster single core performance is the most important thing for VW performance (rendering aside however which can use up to 16 cores).
For a long time VW could only use 3 cores but this limit seemed to be raised in VW2021.
Seems that the difference between the two is i7's 4.7GHz vs i9's 5.0GHz. VW can take advantage of this, but whether its worth the extra $195 is up to you!
Either way it will be a really nice computer to use I'm sure.

I still see this in files, even on the latest service pack.
Is this on anyone from VW's radar?
-
Whilst I like the home screen concept, on MacOS it also has a few shortcomings. Hopefully these are improved in subsequent versions/service packs
-
I thought that would be the case. Good to see some positivity about a new release though!

It's just to indicate this section line isn't linked to a viewport. It won't print or be visible if you export to PDF.
The way to remove it is to link the line to a section viewport or create a viewport from the line.

Btw you're gonna love using that machine with VW 2024 (that's all I can say for now).
Can you say anymore about this now? It's 6 weeks later after all!

As mentioned on the below thread, it would be useful to have the option to control text capitalisation through the text style, i.e. whether text should be UPPER CASE, Title Case, or lower case when text is in the given style.

Ok, thanks Pat - I guess it's one for the wishlist.

Has rendering performance increased/ is that 24core CPU & 60core GPU more effective with 2024 than 2023?
