  1. Its seems it was an issue with memory. I was originally working on my laptop, which has 8 gb of ram. It had no problem exporting on my desktop that has 16 gb of ram though. One thing I noticed is that it only says there is a little over 2 gb of ram available on both my desktop and my laptop, even though both have more. Is there somewhere in setting of vectorworks that changes the available RAM?
  2. When I go to export my file to a DWG, its gets to about 85% complete, at which point it just stops. occasionally it crashes here, but most of the time it doesn't stop responding until you try to click on anything. I'm on a fresh install of the 2018 Student license. I've kept all the export settings to default, and I've been able to export to DWG successfully before. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  3. ok, Thanks! I'm just getting into vectorworks spotlight, so I'm still working out a good work flow. This helps a lot though!
  4. Hello, So I have 2 lighting positions that are fairly close to each other. both are hanging positions, one is named FOH 2U and the other is names FOH 2L. It seems there's a bug where when I place a fixture on FOH 2U, its places it at the correct X and Y cordinent for where I clicked, but it says its on FOH 2L and the Z continent is that of the FOH 2L pipe. Is there a way to easily correct this without manually changing the positions and the Z cordinent on all my fixtures that are placed incorrectly? It seems kinda random when it does it, so its just frustrating having to go back and check each fixture to see if it was actually placed where I clicked. The biggest issue with this bug is that I can change what the fixture is labeled as its position, but on the paperwork, it isn't showing up as actually being on the correct pipe.
  5. That was it! Seems I missed an update. Thanks!
  6. I am inserting lighting fixtures onto pipes, but they never want to insert at the trim height. Every time I insert a fixture, it places it at deck level. How do I get it to hang on the pipe, which already has its trim height? I am following the 2018 tutorial, and as far as I am aware, I am following everything correctly. I have converted the lighting pipe into a hanging position. the tutorial says to convert the lighting pipe into a Lighting position, but that is not an option, and the closest thing to it is hanging position. Is there something I am just completely missing? Any help is appreciated.
