  1. Thanks Peter. That helps, I wasn't sure as to what print server I should buy but it appears that anything with an ethernet port and parallel port should work in my case. I will definitely give gimpprint a try.
  2. I just inherited an old Designjet 230 which does work. I use Mac's in my office and need to make a connection from the printer to my network. I understand I need a print driver in addition to the software driver. I read a lot on the discussions about Gimp print but I'm looking for a recommendation on a print driver (hardware) for this old beast. I'm happy to buy an old one from Ebay I just want to make sure I know what to look for. Thanks in advance.
  3. You're on the right track - I use Strata 3D Pro for rendering and have had great results. Depending on the complexity of your model your rendering times will vary but overall I think it's pretty fast. And Strata has just released v3.8 which works with OSX and I couldn't be more pleased. Give it another look - you'll be glad you did.
  4. I've used AutoCAD for 10 years now but not because it's been my choice. It is a powerful program but one that is not designed for creative thinkers like myself. I believe Autodesk is finally changing things because they have seen VW steadily gaining supporters by it's solid program which is more intuitive and designer oriented. I personally always recommend to anyone waivering about which CAD program to use that VW is the way to go. P.S. can I get a free upgrade to 10 now??
  5. I'm interested in a program that gives the "hand drawn" effect to wireframe drawings. I am aware there is a program called panzerdoodle on the web site available to download but is there anything more current (for VW 9.5.2)? Or does it work to convert dwg's to old Minicad format and then open them in panzerdoodle?? Thanks in advance.
  6. I'm interested in upgrading my OS to 10.2 aka Jaguar but concerned with the compatibility of VW/RW 9.5.2. I know this question has probably been asked before but could somebody just give me a quick answer. Oh yeah and I plan to upgrade to VW 10 soon just not immediately. Thanks in advance.
  7. Thanks Katie. I bet that's my problem - I will verify the OSX v I'm running and will upgrade asap.
  8. I have this problem with VW 9.5.2 on Mac OS 10.01? generally when I have just started working in a file - whenever I try to modify an object's class through the Object Properties palette the file just closes and it tells me VW has unexpectedly quit. It's pretty annoying because now I have to save right before I make any modification and it takes several trys before I can make a change and not crash. Has anybody experienced this?? Any suggestions?? Thanks in advance.
  9. Mr. Samurai, I imagine you're familiar with Strata 3D Pro. It's a fairly easy program to render with that works great on a MAC and can open VW files with relative ease. I hope the people at VW keep up the compatibility between the two...please! Though I think the day is fast approaching where the rendering on VW is so awesome you won't need anything else!!
