when creating a space object for a room and the room is an irregular shape, is there a way to move the text info so that it is centered in the room? also i tried the "create spaces from walls" command. it didn't create spaces in all the places that i needed it so, i undid my action and a lot of the walls were partially gone/invisible. i tried quitting and not saving the changes. but when i opened back up, the walls were still missing. i had not done that much to the drawing this morning so, i just replaced it with yesterday's version. cherie vw architect 10.1/osX.2.4

i've added new classes to my project for some existing conditions. i've noticed that when i change tasks through task manager (or changes classes) that these new classes are invisible. so, i have to go and manually turn them on for that class. that's not so bad but they don't stay turned on and i have to turn them on again when i'm back in that class. is there a place where i can have these new classes defaulting to visible in all classes? cherie vw architect 10.1/osX.2.4

katie, i ran the disk utility on friday and along with one other fix within my email program, that is working. but, the vectorworks file is still messed up and i also noticed element are now not in the layer or class they were created in. i'm not too far along on this project to start over but my fear is that this will happen in the future when the project is nearing completion.

just got this error message: error_1815_1770-index outside array limits. i got this message after opening a file and going to task manager (it was just full of numbers). this file had previously crashed when sending to print. anyway to fix this or do i need to copy it into a new file?

katie, i had also better back up a bit. the original file crashed when quitting after printing. when reopened, i got this message "file is damaged. it will open with as much data as possible". i clicked ok and then got this message "39 end of file reached during read. attempt to read file -FSREAD." the file then opens with the word "recover" in file name. task manager acts the same in this file as in the new copy of the file. also another problem occurred after this problem, my email program, outlook express, will not open but i get a similar message, "an error occurred while launching. end of file was reached."

katie, i got the message when i accessed task manager menu. the scroll downs were blank and below that there were a lot of numbers jumbled together. i am using vw 10.1 (with architect) and mac osx.2.4.

the logo actually prints worse than it looks on screen. maybe i need to get the font to my print house? but, i send pdf files. i will try the illustrator route though. hopefully it will take care of the letters filling in as well.

when i import my company logo to create my titleblock on a custom sheet (in plug-ins), it comes in a little fuzzy. and when i set up a project using va setup and attach the titleblock sheet, some of the letters in the logo are filled in. this isn't the case while viewing it on the plug-in sheet. fyi, i am using vw 10.1 on a mac using osx 10.2.4. the logo was created in freehand and i saved it in all formats that vw could import and had the same results each time. should i just try to recreate it in a vw file?

what is the difference between the prefix "cpx" verses "spl" in the wall types library....i.e. (cpx)1 hr-1 5/8" mtl w/type x or (spl) 1 hr-1 5/8" mtl w/type x?

i have a countertop that is straight on two sides with a 45 degree angle in the middle.

what is the best way to manipulate the standard countertop into a shape other than a rectangle?

can this gimp print/ghostscript method be used to send out plot files to a print house? they told me to use hp650c when setting up the plot files. i'm running vw 9.5.3 on osX.2.2. i had originally bought a copy of macplot pro so we could plot on our old hp design jet200 but it died before we could get it running. also, which plotter works best with the system we are running? we will be getting a new one soon.

is there a way to get around this white text default problem? i'm just now going through the vw tutorial and the text worked fine yesterday but today it's white or ghosted.

is it better to use a single button mouse or a 3-button mouse with vectorworks/vectorworks architect? if a 3-button mouse is preferred, how should each button be programmed?

i'm running on osX.2 just to clarify....after upgrading from vw9.5.0 to 9.5.1 it created a new folder. when upgrading from 9.5.1 to 9.5.3, the 9.5.1 folder was upgraded. can i now delete 9.5.0 without any problems? thanx for your help...
