  1. Same experience for me as well. Problem seems to stem from clicking too fast on adjacent, closely spaced points. Bob
  2. or use the attributes mapping tool Bob
  3. and... have you tried printing from the Mac's Preview app in lieu of VW or Adobe Reader?
  4. Patrick and Jim, I came across the dimensioned width anomaly a while ago and reported it (pre-SP2). After VW2015 SP2 the dimensioned width issue appears resolved (for me at least). I can confirm the closed end issue even with SP2.
  5. I can only speak to item a) and have experienced the same issue of garbled text when printing from a pdf created via VW's publish function. Problem is specific to Adobe Reader but does not occur when printing via MacOS's Preview app. No matter what printer I use.
  6. I gave it a try as Jim described and the Select Similar Tool worked fine though it did not pick up rectangles after they were grouped. Did a quick check of a few files created in 2015 and 2014, both design and annotated sheet layers, without any problems. Mac OS vs. Windows problem? Bob
  7. Apologies! Before posting I was going check the forums for previous posts but got lazy. Bob
  8. Hello Vincent, I don't use the space tool very much but my results appear normal. Aside from selecting the Picked Walls Mode I left all other settings at default. Bob
  9. I just came across this today. I was using the linear material tool today to create some detail plywood sections set at 3/4". Noticing that the detail was not looking right I applied some dimensions to the plywood and found that it was actually 51/64" instead of 3/4". Needless to say things can quickly get out of hand with details at say 3" = 1'-0". This reoccurs with each the first 6 selections of the tool. (By the way notice the fractional dimensions appearing overlapped? This is something new to VW 2015... no matter the font, which is Geneva in this case, I now see this problem with all diagonal fractions)
  10. Same here. Curious how the problem apparently depends on how the objects are constructed. Bob
  11. Hello Kaare and Jim, I downloaded your file applied the surface command on the 2 objects and see the same problem. Out of curiosity I then reconstructed Kaare's shape: created 2 rectangles > applied the filet tool on the smaller > dragged them together so they touched > applied the add surface command. I double clicked on the resultant object and it appeared normal without extra or asymmetric control points. Question: How was the radiused box constructed? Bob
  12. Thanks for the straightforward summary. What you say makes perfect sense though I am puzzled why the problem appeared on more than one printer. One Epson and the other a networked Ricoh printer/copier. I'll just continue with Preview. Now out of the office and on to the baseball game. Bob
  13. No problem when printing directly from VW 2015. Just discovered: ALL pdf's generated using the VW 2015 Publish command that printed garbled text via Adobe Reader print OK when printing from the Preview app. So the problem appears to be some miscommunication between VW 2015 and Adobe Reader (11.0.09)? Bob
  14. Hello Jim, Tried File > Export > Export PDF (used default settings) and the resulting pdf printed with the same garbled text. BTW in all previous pdf the screen display (and print previews) looked OK. I haven't made any recent changes to my system other than updating my copy of Microsoft Office 2011 (v14.4.5). Just sayin'. ;-) Bob
  15. Hello Jim, Sorry, perhaps I didn't explain all the points very well. Publishing from VW2014 is OK. Publishing from VW2015 using documents originally created in VW2014 are not OK. The problem appears to be specific to VW2015. I haven not yet tried File > Export > Export PDF. Will attempt it and report back. BTW literally the moment I clicked send on my original post I received the pop up the VW2105 SP1 was available. Downloaded and ran some trials. No change, the problem persists. Bob
  16. I've getting text gibberish using VW 2015 publish command. Every time, no matter the font. As a test create a new blank document and place any graphic and text elements you wish. Create a viewport on a new sheet layer. Execute the publish to pdf command and print. All I get is unreadable scrambled text. Changing fonts, printers, page size, etc. produces the same problem. Publishing from existing VW2014 documents produces the same scrambled text. Printing pdf's produced using VW2014 publish command and printing to pdf using OS 9.5 print command produce correct text. Am I missing some setting in the Publish command that was changed in VW2015? Thanks, Bob
  17. Hello Julie, I've come to the conclusion that door symbols will not behave correctly in reflected ceiling plans even with sills class off and ceiling main class on. A door plug-in however does behave as expected. One can convert a door plug-in to a symbol by checking "convert to plug-in object" in the create symbol menu and it will create a symbol (noted in red) in the Resource Browser. This allows you to place doors configured per your specifications repeatedly and they will behave properly in a reflected ceiling plan. The down side is that doors placed this way exist in the plan as pug-in objects NOT as symbols thus potentially bloat the file and cannot be edited from the resource Browser and have change appear in all placed doors. To all viewers please correct me if I am wrong!
  18. I can confirm similar behavior earlier this week. It happened while performing normal drawing tasks. Loss of boomerang function was accompanied by loss of most modifier key actions as well. Restart of VW fixed it, did not restart my Mac. Never happened before and Office was open per my usual work flow.
  19. Hello Kevin, Possibly not directly related but upon occasion I have encounter vastly out of scale date stamp text on my view ports when initiating the print to pdf command on my Mac. If I fiddle with the date stamp settings then things return to normal. Has also occurred with batch print command. Observed in VWA 12, 13 and 14. I've never been able to intentionally repeat the problem. Bob
  20. I have confirmed that the described behavior also occurs in files started with VW 2014 as well. I have filed a bug report. Bob
  21. No crashes this time! Same file as reported in my previous post regarding Keynote duplication causing a crash (created in 2013 and converted to 2014). When I edit an existing Key Note located in a viewport, I type in the new text and it appears in the legend as expected. But when I exit the viewport and douple-click the legend to open the Keynote Manager the upper pane shows the old, supposedly changed wording, while the lower pane shows the new wording. Furthermore: Normally when editing successive different Key Notes to show the same wording the redundant ones are deleted and the Key Note legend renumbers. Not in this case since apparently the old wording keeps the Key Notes from being "recalculated". See attached screen shot. Bob
  22. Can this behavior be verified by others? I started with a file created in VW2013 and converted to VW2014. I was editing a viewport annotated with previously created Keynotes and followed a procedure I used in the past of option-dragging an existing note to create a new one. No problem in VW2013; however, in 2014 VW crashes every time I duplicate the existing note. Method of duplication does not matter. Bob
  23. No, it pretty much occurs any time I have a brain freeze and double click. For what it's worth I have attached the crash report generated with each instance. Bob
