  1. LKR_AMNH, I suspect this is one of those "working as designed" behaviors. Occasionally I have a series of notes that have similar wording and it saves a few clicks each time. Bob
  2. Glad to help. I usually find myself on the other side of such matters.
  3. Given multiple computers exhibiting problems this may be a bit above my pay grade but I noticed you are using VW 2014. What OS are you using? Is it the same on all the office computers? If you are using OS 10.12 Sierra I believe VW does not officially support VW 2014 with Sierra. In case your signature is not up-to-date and you are using VW2017: Try the option in VW Preferences > Display > Navigation Graphics to select a level of compatibility. I use the second option "good performance & compatibility" on my similarly spec'd iMac. Seems to keep odd graphic behavior to a minimum. I'm sure others will pipe in. Bob
  4. File > Document Settings > Units. Select the desired option displayed beside "Fractional Display for Dimensions". Caveat: Depending on your preferred font the more compact fractional displays may result in odd overlapped numerals. Also, this option this applies only to automatically generated dimensions. Manually entered fractional dimensions (via the OIP) limits you to the format as typed in your post. Bob
  5. Indeed! Being a sole practitioner my daily scan of the this forum frequently pays dividends.
  6. I find it particularly annoying that the 42 character setting does not refresh after copying a note then editing it. Geez, how difficult can it be for programmers to correct? Ok, back to work.
  7. Thanks for the responses. cberg, yes, when editing in viewport annotations mode a right click>delete leader line has no apparent effect for me as well. Hadn't notice it working on a design layer since i seldom annotate outside of a viewport. bcd, does it work OK for you in viewport annotation mode? It would be interesting to hear from others to see if this is a bug.
  8. Should be simple some how it escapes me. I have created several callouts to which I have added leader lines using the CTRL-click pop up menu. Works fine. When I use the same pop menu to delete a leader line... nothing happens. I've searched the help menu to no avail as there appears t be no mention of the leader line delete function. A nudge in the right direction would be appreciated.
  9. I've really got to stop being surprised at the reach of Amazon.
  10. Is it just me or is VW Help running extremely slow if at all? Noticed earlier today.
  11. alfresco, just in case: If you have more than one file open check to see that the correct one is selected in the resource manager. Happened to me recently 😮
  12. Small point, in pre-AW days you can have multiple VW files open and cycle through them via the Window menu by selecting the appropriate file name. Certainly not as elegant. I too felt some frustration with the AW, particularly when trying to return to my desktop, but am slowly getting used to it... Bob
  13. Document preferences > create dimensions in dimensions class (check box) Bob
  14. Ha! so true, and therefore funny, if not with a dose of pain. As I am a one man shop I suspect one can add the masochist manager syndrome.
  15. I suspect this is working as designed though it can be annoying when precise placement is needed. Unselect the snap to angle constraint in the Snapping Palette and it should eliminate the 15º constraint.
  16. Absolutely right Alan. What confused me was that the Create Drawing Title box is usually blank by default but at at times unexpectedly checked without any apparent action on my part. Hence the need to remove the unwanted drawing title in the viewport's annotation mode. I would have to do some investigation to identify why the box is at times checked but alas time does not permit. Thanks for the tip on strategically using the Create Drawing Title box.
  17. I'll repeat Jim's reply to the original post location... enter the viewport's edit annotation mode and delete the offending drawing title(s). Inelegant but it works, though I would much prefer to have the option to not use one during viewport creation.
  18. Yes, Jim's solution is what I have resorted to doing in order to eliminate the unwanted drawing title. It would be nice to have the option to control it during viewport creation. Just saying.
  19. "not in my lifetime"...we're not really THAT old? Are we?
  20. Hello markaj, I can confirm that the slot tool in edge placement mode behaves the same in VW2017 SP2 as it does in VW2016 SP4. Bob
  21. Hello Felipe. I don't know if you're on a PC or Mac (or if it would make a difference) but try inserting a space before "GROUND LEVEL" and see if that places it first after sorting. Works in most applications to my experience. Bob
  22. Hmm... by "direct import of a DWG" do you use the file menu import DWG function or do you literally cut and paste from one file to the other? The reason I ask is I always do the latter as a means of assuring myself that I will be transferring only the specific object(s), nothing else. Perhaps posting the offending file or the source of the DWG download might help in trouble shooting. Regarding cleaning up of lines and text, if you haven't already, try the Visibility Tool (V). I'm just learning myself how powerful the tool can be. Bob courtesy of the inestimable Jim...
