  1. I have six pads of different levels adjacent to each other with one fence surrounding the whole lot. The trouble is that when I move the pads a little to avoid the 3D polys lying vertically the contours creep inside the fence and into/across the pads. Any advice please?

    trees

Can anyone tell me where the trees on the cover of the Landmark manual come from? I'm looking for 3D trees and other plants. Thanks
  3. Robert Thanks very much for the detailed reply - I see how it works - and I have to put my house plan on the same layer as the grid to get the right effect. Thank you, Bea
  4. I did try doing as you said, which is what I'd tried initially, but it still doesn't work - the DTM grid disappears when I render the site model layer. If I put the DTM layer on top of the site model layer it does show but masks the rendered site model. Thanks, Bea
  5. Thanks for your reply - when I said "site model" I meant for example the plan of the house in a 3D view and not the DTM model. Would this change anything - the DTM grid still disappears when I have it showing in a layer underneath the rendered house plan layer. Also did you have any ideas about the other questions? Sorry to burden you in this bad week!
  6. First I used the regular wall tool - yes, how do I make rounded edges please. It's walls made with the landscape wall tool that don't seem to render - can I make rounded edges on these too?
  7. Can I render a landscape wall? I'm using dry stone walls as retaining walls and would like to render them and somehow make their edges less sharp - is it possible to round the edges of walls, even those made with the ordinary wall tool? Thank you, Bea
  8. My DTM in 3D is a grid which I would like to leave in wireframe while showing my site model layer rendered. When I render the site model the DTM grid disappears. Is there any way of showing the wireframe grid at the same time as the rendered site model? The project is a small residential/landscape (using VW Landscape) and the house is on a sloping site (sloping in various directions). When I make the pad modifier for the house (using different height vertices on the 3D polygon), with control fence, the contours still run through the pad and not around the edge of the house plan. Also could you let me know how to include existing retaining walls into a DTM? I've tried to use the landscape wall tool but it doesn't alter the DTM in the right way - the walls don't retain the ground behing them but just show up as blips. Many thanks for your help, Bea
  9. Thanks for replies - I haven't advanced to using scripts yet but this will encourage me I hope. Bea
  10. Great, it worked. Thank you thank you. Bea
  11. Please could you tell me a quick way to calculate the surface area of a wall, straight or curved. Many thanks.
  12. No - no other objects anywhere near the trees.
  13. I'm using VW 9.5.1 with Landmark and Renderworks, on a G3 Mac. It does happen in other files too. I thought it might be because the polygon cut into the object a fraction but when I've altered the polygon the same thing happens. Many thanks.
  14. I have put some 3D trees in my plan which works fine but suddenly the leaf part of the tree disappears leaving just the trunk - this only happens with certain trees. In all views. Any ideas please?
  15. I have a 3D polygon where each vertex is at a different height. When I render using Final Quality Render in an isometric view the perimeter line is correctly set but the fill is offset irregularly. When I render using Quick Render it works fine. But sometimes objects underneath the polygon show through when they're not meant to and sometimes the polygon shows through objects that are meant to be on top! Any suggestions please?
