  1. Thanks Matt - I did check out Animation Works briefly this am. Gotta ask them some questions.
  2. I'm trying to animate the assembly of a few parts with the view remaining the same but parts (classes) changing position as the animation proceeds to bring together the elements of an exploded view into a complete object. I'm finding this is impossible because the software's logic seems to require moving the "camera" through a series of positions in relation to an object rather than changing the parts of the object. If I "set view" just for a changed element in the view it just defaults to one of the views without changing the position of the objects between each view. Anyone have suggestions on animating the elements of an exploded assembly view of an complex object? Conrad Skinner AIA Santa Fe, NM.
  3. I'm a VW Architect Newbie. I copied an .mcd file from my win98 machine at home to a sandisc mini cruzer (chip/disk) for plotting thru the VW vieweri'd installed on a machine at my office. When I opened the file at work the VW viewer on a machine without quicktime, the software questioned fonts and, rewrote the file with different classes and layers than I had edited in. Millwork was deleted. Building sections were deleted. The foundation plan, roof framing plan and mechanical plan were gone. the classes that were edited to appear on the appropriate layers did not appear. On return to my home machine I realized I hadn't copied the file to the mini disk at all, I'd transferred it and the altered classes and layers are all I'm left with!!! 1. Has anyone had this problem with the viewer? 2. Can you suggest a way to recover the lost layers and classes? Thanks, Conrad Skinner

  5. newbie to vw. 1. I zip and send my vw Arch9 file to my outsource for plotting. He can't open the file, saying it seems to be corrupted or in an old version of minicad. same problem when I send in vw_8. 2. I have FormZ on my machine. When I save in .dwg format, the file icons as a FormZ .dwg. FormZ .dwg misaligns type and loses lineweights. How can I reassign the .dwgs. thanks in advance. Conrad
