  1. I think the SLVP defaults to the scale of the Design Layer. Are you drawing in 1:1?
  2. Edit the texture, choose the Reflectivity shader drop down menu and select glow for the list. From there you can adjust the amount of light the image will emit.
  3. It should work like the others, I always have it docked at the bottom left of my screen
  4. I see this in any number of tools. There really ought to be a class mapping tool that can set universal preferences for uses, documents,, or offices.
  5. My book https://www.routledgetextbooks.com/textbooks/9780415726139/ Is a is meant for learning and as a desktop manual.
  6. If you make a Subdivision spherical primitive, you can readily model the transition.
  7. It's the corners that give you the look. IRL, I don't think twisting a round rod will give you the appearance you want. I imagine that in your model and in fabrication you'll have to transition from the rectangle to the circle. IRL, the welds can be ground down to make the transition appear seamless. Virtually, I would add a subdivision element to make the transition, of to make the entire piece. That's appreciably more complex modeling.
  8. My first though is that the original spiral looks like the extrude was a rectangle, so the twist is visible. With the extruded circle, the twist has no visible effect.
  9. Use the Twist option in the Deform Tool. You'll need three extrudes of the square rod. Twist one, and Use Model>Add Solids to put the three together. It might be possible to use one extrude and just twist the one area, but I'd have to check that functionality.
  10. Were the textures created and assigned in VWX? The Lighting?
  11. I've Downed this, any leads to where to best learn?
  12. The Design Layer render is at 72dpi, the SLVP has an assigned DPI, that might be 300. The increase is exponential.
  13. This is a direct link to purchase https://www.edgelightrgb.com/shop
  14. If I correctly understand, you'll likely need the objects to be symbols. You'll need to create a data record for the object and include the parts and costs. Then you can create a report based on the data record and include on the sheet. You may need to recalculate the report to get updated information.
  15. @Scottmoore this is a terrific resource and a very reasonable price!
  16. I am attempting to create a number of Linear Animations. I'm seeing an odd cropping issue between saved views and the overall compositions. What I see in the animations has been cropped down from the saved views. Hoping this isn't a bug, but user error.
  17. See. I've just moved away from Saved Views to SLVPs for printing and page layout.
  18. Can we see your file? I have to admit I'm still a little confused.
  19. Why would the changes be in two locations? Move the spike in the DL, and SLVP is updated.
  20. Well, I no longer print from the DL, just from the SL. You're right you have to do this twice, UNLESS you activate the Classes in the SLVPs when you create the classes. This assumes you've named the SLVPs well when you created them (that for me is one of those do as I say, not as I do things). My argument might be that if you tae the time to set uptake classes in the SLs, you will save time when there are changes.
  21. I'm having a bit of difficulty here. If each artist has a sheet, isn't it just a matter of turn on the correct class in the correct VP? Then every SM can have a sheet?
  22. yes. Well, I prefer Panorama view, but...
