  1. Well, it is in no way up to me. Above my pay grade, but it would be sweet.
  2. and perhaps, like the Update Viewport button, it ought to turn red when an update is required?
  3. 1. use a Reflectivity>glow texture or Reflectivity>Backlit and add a red Area Light behind.
  4. Sounds like options would be nice. I generally use 01, 02, etc
  5. Pf course, I remembered a video that described how to make this very thing. A quick search and I find that @Matt Panzer made the tutorial and used Perimeter mapping. Is there a VE to bring that back? I'd like to up vote. FYI:
  6. I'd be curious to see that hexes tile on a flat surface. have you tried using the brick shader and bump in the VWX texture definition? What are those cabinet faces?
  7. I'd be curious to see what you're after. Not sure these all correspond to how VWX defines a texture. Not thinking of 'limitations' but of differing approaches.
  8. I was recently asked to teach VWX in 2D. I was flummoxed. I've been a user since MiniCAD v3 and tried to do more in 3D than that version was designed to accomplish. Why use a computer in 2D?
  9. Yes, seems like a slip of the mouse. There is an extra point. When deleted the adjustable length is shown.
  10. Adobe Illustrator exports to dwg, but I find that export/import process often imperfect. This is especially true of the deign includes elegant curves that DWG converts to many short lines.
  11. I am sure I have a VE on this or similar somewhere along the way. VWX used to import the native AI file format as vector art. Somewhere along the way VWX lost that ability. So, once upon a time, I could design a logo in AI, import into VWX and manipulate/detail for signage, as one example. Currently, I have to retrace any graphic creating an opportunity for error.
  12. I am not a Landscape Designer, but I do use some of these tools. This is really a universal need and solution. I have been, however, generally amused but the subject heading.
  13. what 'package' are you rocking?
  14. Not sure where Foliage ships, it is more of a rendering device than a planning tool. Foliage provides no plant inventory, it merely spreads, somewhat randomly, images/textures. I generally find it in the Visualisation Tool Palette.
  15. Do you mean the Foliage tool?
  16. I have taught at Montclair State and have several students from there working professionally and using the software. I have and am teaching at Rutgers MGSA. Not sure about the last batch and these are all freshmen.
  17. won't a simple 3D object work? Then auto Hybrid or add a 2D component
  18. yes, Data Viz would probably work, but I think they are just now getting the idea of clasing.
  19. I guess my problem is I have curtains that touch the floor. They should have a solid line, I have curtains that trim out at +18' and they are above the cut plane and should be a long dashed line.
  20. that doesn't sound like an actual over ride and pretty complicated for first year students.
  21. When I created the objects, I chose to use the default classes. I then copied the softgoods-Curtain class to make three classes for Legs, borders, and full stage drapes. They have no fill and a blue stoke, set by class. in the attribute palette they all show they are set by class. Additionally, I clicked set all attributes by class.
  22. I am teaching using v2022. I am showing the softwood tool, and I cannot seem to get a class over ride to take effect. I would like the lines, In plan) to be dashed. That does not see to work I have also tried changing the color of the geometry. Is this a bug? Operator error?
