  1. @jcogdell thank you so much. Maybe this can remind them that not everyone is doing large truss arena shows... it seems the past few versions of spotlight have been focused more on concert/arena stuff and left “regular” theaters out to dry.
  2. @markdd When trying your method I get an error when trying to 3D Rotate my ladder, I tried both the ladder tool and making a ladder out of pipe... any advice?
  3. I am running the most current version of Vectorworks (2019 SP3) on a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014) with a 2.5 GHz Intel Core i7 with 16 GB of Ram and a NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M I tried reseting the computer and restating VW and I am still having the issue even when I start a new file.
  4. I am trying to draw a lighting pipe with the tool but it is only drawing 2D, when I go to convert to hanging position the 2d goes away and is only visible in 3d.... (Vectorworks 2019)
  5. Running Vision 2019 on MacOS 10.14, 2.5 GHZ i7, 16GB Ram, NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2048 MB Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB graphics, as soon as I import the light plot form VW2019 and select the first fixture to look at the focus Vision crashes. I go to open an older file that worked fine and same thing happens.
  6. For very long up and down fades (10 minutes plus) across multiple fixtures 8-bit will trip the dimmers, 16-bit handles it better (my understanding after talking to the dimmer manufacturer is it has something to do with the cue having more than 255 steps to pass thru and how the control module deals with that, and 16-bit does not present the same problems and my dimmers don’t trip so we use 16-bit on conventional fixtures and 8-bit for switch/relay mode) Since such profiles are on all major consoles, I would think vision would have a way to deal with this.
  7. What is the best way to set up files in Spotlight and Vision for use with 16-Bit Dimmer (example our theater uses a ETC Sensor SR48 with CEM 3 set to 16 bit dimming for our conventional fixtures, and 8 bit dimming for cards in switch mode to supply power to LED fixtures). As an example Source 4 fixtures only have 1 DMX value in Vision but our console is outputting 2 values (fine and corse dimming). Thanks!
  8. You can output on ArtNet and sACN in "offline mode" but at random times every Address will go to full for a 0.5 count and back to what your doing, this is to discourage someone from trying to use a 3rd party DMX output device and use Nomad for free as a control desk, this is not an issue if all your doing is pre-viz. Be warned Eos 2.6 does NOT work with ANY pre-viz right now (I Had to call ETC today, Eos just sends random values after the first "flash") Also make sure if you use your non-dongle copy of Nomad as a mirror screen that your not in Offline w/viz because as we discovered the other day it will "flash" your real rig if your on a active lighting network while working in pre-viz.
