  1. thanks for this info on Big Sur. I was really getting confused about the 'local MacHHD' being 'divided into 2 partitions'. I noticed this before while trying to find files; I also noticed (just yesterday) that whole folders were moved to 'trash', but when trying to 'put back' some of the folders and files (I'm still in 'trash') I could not get the 'put back' option, so now I will have to wait to see if duplicates remain on my computer before 'emptying' the 'trash'. it seems now with iCloud, internal drives, external drives, third party cloud repositories that you set up and then 'forget about', malware software that 'cleans' your disks and sends stuff to 'trash' that you don't have time to examine carefully before 'emptying', and folders and files all over the place that just seem to miraculously appear on their own, that I'm getting lots of headaches! I opened VW 21 again today and made modifications on some current files and I'm happy to report that I no longer get the 'Internal Error' message I brought me to this forum, so — and I'm only guessing here — my rearranging and renaming some VW folders and files must have had a positive benefit. too bad I don't have the computer 'chops' to know what I was doing so I can't be of any help to anyone else with this same error message!
  2. well, I don't know what to say. first off, thanks for the replies. to my issue, I spent all day today opening and closing VW folders and files. I thought I kept VW 20 on my computer so I was anxious to open that version to see if I would have the same result, but I must have deleted it. I had copied old files to a thumb drive and when I opened files and saved back to that drive, all worked fine. this led to other trials—many trials, too many to keep track of so I cannot give any advice that would make any sense and might just confuse. I 'cleaned out' folders containing the same files but with different versions of VW. I opened various files stored on my iMac and on my 'time machine' external Samsung SSD drive, I made simple modifications, and used 'save' with new file names (I also did this when I started having the problem just yesterday, but with no luck). to make a long story short: I am no longer having this 'Internal Error...' problem. it has disappeared as quickly and as mysteriously as it first appeared. I'm guessing i must have rearranged file paths while moving folders and files and the problem self-corrected. I know this won't satisfy anyone looking for a solution, and I can only hope others experiencing a similar error message will have similar luck. FYI: I am using iMac, v11.1, VW 21, SP2. I hope my luck keeps up. I may come back again!
  3. I am now having this same problem with VW21. any resolutions to date? I can open files and work with them but I cannot save them. I get this error message when I try. I have opened files from backup folder, I have used 'Save as' but nothing seems to work. any help. I have not tried reloading VW21. I'm hoping for a simple explanation.
