you can doulble click x to deselect everything also how customized is your workspace. I can get to almos everything I use regulary at the touch of a button(s). However, I understand your thinking there is a lot of potential there.

I get and error in the print center that says "pictwpstops - disposing of document". I did a search of that phrase and found people using freehand getting the error as well. However the only fixes were for people with non-os x servers. Our server is running os X. I go to the plotter and it says "Error flushing rest of job". I just tried printing a new blank document with a square and it successfully printed. So I guess it is someting with my old documents and 10.5. I tried to print one of the documents i was having trouble with again after the successful print, and it did not print. Definitely a problem with document created in older versions. I have just requestedt the script and will let you know what happens then. Until then any other insights/suggestions?

We have 2 cubes with 10.5 and we can't print to an hp designjet 800ps. we can print to an hp5000. we didn't have these problem in 10.1.2. On an imac I can print fine with 10.1.2. On a g4 I can print fine with 10.5. Does changing the file in the finder from a vw9.5 to a vw10.5 file affect the file? On some of our files the icon still indicates vw9.5 even thought they have been opened, editted, and saved in vw10.1.2 and 10.5. I cahnged some through the finder to automatically open in vw10.5. i thought this may have created the problem so i changed them back to vw9.5 files (even though I am using vw10.5). I am going to try deleting 10.5 and going back to 10.1.2 (i will miss the windo shade feature, but i can't go running around the office trying to figure which computer will print when i need to get a job out). Any fixes you have are appreciated.

by the way, we are using mac os 10.2 so it may not be just a windows problem.

We are having problems printing to an HP DesignJet 800PS from VW 10.5. Our computer wiht 10.1.2 are printing fine. Also, I can print to our hp5000 from 10.5. Please fix/help.

To add new classes it would be great to have a "add new class" option on the Object Info palette when you click on the arrows that the diplay the object's current class. (and layers too) Sometimes I want an object on a class and when I go to change the objects attributes, I realize I don't have that class in the file file yet. On a different subject: I would like for layers when added from my standards to retain the scale that they are in the standard file. Example: when I add the 3/4" layer, I should not have to then edit the scale to 3/4". Classes currently retain their attributes when added from a standards file, why not layers?

Have you tried to use "Layer Colors"? If you are only using 3 colors this might be helpful. I have use this when I want a base/demo plan grey, and text black. Also when I wanted to show a smoke compartment as orange I put the lines one a seperate layer. I think there is also a plug-in on Vector-Bits that does what your are talking about when you have several colors. I haven't tried it but it look useful on the demo movie if you need this frequently.

I would love if there was a shortcut to edit plug-ins in the resouce palette - like say command-click- instead going through the menu, scrolling down to edit.....I can double click to edit symbols... ---------------- ok just tried option-click and got to the edit menu. Are all of these shortcuts in the manual somewhere?? It would be great, if after I discover I use something frequently, to look it up to see if there is already a shortcut, instead of wasting time posting to the wish list not knowing my wish has already been granted. thanks. ps why isn't email notification on by default, I would think, most of us want to know when someone has replied to our topic.

It would really be helpful to specify layer option per layer not for all layers in a file. For example, I could lock one layer and be able to move thing on others. I know the snap to others is kind of this but sometimes I want to work on two layers and have a third locked, but be able to snap to objects on it. This would also encompass layer colors & the b&w option. Sometimes I want a background layer (that I am snapping to) to be b&w, but I want to see class colors on the layer I am editting.

I totally agree. I have gotten used to the new way but I still feel like I am going through a lot of unecessary step to do what I used to do in a couple of steps.

Nevermind. I found the files in my VW folder. I thought they would be on my desktop.

I was just browsing around and found a List classes and a List Layers script on the Panzercad website. The scripts don't appear to work in VW10. Does anyone know of any updated scripst that will list classes &/layers? Thanks.

However I put the schedules (door, room finish) on the same sheet as the floor plan so I am not referencing into another file. All of my door and room info is already in the target file. If you wanted, you could create an 'ID tags' layer in your plans source file then refence this into your target 'schedules' file to use the worksheet functions. You would keep the id tags layer invisible and just update your worksheets whenever the info changes.

If you are familar with CAD programs already you may find it easier not to use the Task Manager for small projects. VW tend to create more thatn you need. I have never found it benficail to use.

if your windows and dors are symbols, edit their insertion options. If you are using the libraries from Architect, I usually import the door or window using the resources palette. Then go to 2-d edit, with the object selected I make sure all the attributes are set to class attributes. Then when I put it on a demo class the window is red and dashed, when I put it a base class it has solid lines. I almost never use the door and window object tools because you have to edit every time you draw one.

you can put the worksheets in your target file. this is what we do. the doors are drawn in a plan file, referenced into sheet A1.1. the the schedule is also in file A1.1 and it grab info from the referenced plan. We have a file for every physical sheet we print. If I have a large plan I put door ids on a notes layer in the target document. if the plan changes I change the ids in the target document. This works because we usually only want door ids on the floor plan. I put room ids in the source file so i can reference them in with the floor plan file and the rcp without duplicating them.

how do I get to dimesions to contain a dash (1'-3")? I type the dash in the worksheet cell but vw puts the info in without the dash. My cell is set to dimension under the number option. it has the dash is there is a space before and after the dash. is this the only working solution? vwa 10.2 mac os 10.2.6

yes this is how it was in vw 9, that was fixed in vw 10 so that you could use either key. My problem is not concerning which key to use, it is that the cursor alway goes back to the first field when I hit enter instead of ging to the next field in the data record.

(Does this happen in a new document with a new record?) The document I have was created in vw 10 but probably on system 9. It doesn't happen with all documents. I can't figure out any pattern. Was the file you are having the problem with a converted file from an earlier version? If so, what version? Part of the documetn have been copied from documents that were converted from vw 9 to 10. (What record format is showing this problem>?) It is not specific to a record but to a dcument. Most of the record I am using have been created in house or are modified vw records.

I just found out it is a known bug between vw and os 10.
