I use VW 11.5 PC and occainsionally I will certain setting. one in particular is my zoom tool. I don't actuall lose the tool, what happens is the the magnifying glass is no longer there and it's just an arror. How do I change this back to a magnifying glass??

I was hoping someone has used the trace bitmap tool successfully. It seems when I scan a line drawing in and convert it to an image file then import into vectorworks file--- Whwn I import it and then do the trace bitmaop tool, it is not accurate what so ever. Has anyone ever had success using this tool, if so what are necessary step to use it correctly?

I have notice when I use the stair tool that there is a feature on the OIP that I can check the draw top tread. I quess I a not understanding what the top tread is, is it the floor itseld, for ezample, my flr to flr height is 10'0", do I need ti check the draw top tread?

I am trying to customize windows to make them for a southern traditional style home.(ex. adding a drip cap on top, adding shutters, etc) VectorWorks 11.5 won't let me edit a window from my palette. Is there a way to do this. I would the ability to make them 2D & 3D. Please help

WHat I am trying to do is convert the VecotorWorks file and then e-mail it to a AutoCAD user. WHat i the best method. Also, I heard that it is best to send things as DWG's but that means I have to enclude all the extra files of hatches right? Thanks

When I convert a VectorWorks file to a DWG's why are some of the hatches converted to seperate files from the main drawings. How can I limp everyhting together??

As I was reading the file name at the top of the screen, it says that it is a read onoly file- How do I get past this- do It matter? Can I import the file and make changes to it?

I kmow there has been many of discussions regarding importing DWG's into VectorWorks 11.5 but I just can't seem to find one that is pertaining to my problem. When I try to import a DWG into Vectorworks, an "Error 3 message comes up- Indicating the file could not be opend. Make sure it is not already open in another application." Please help

WHere can I find out the basics of setting and creating vierwports? What exactly are viewports and what are the useful for? Aret hey the same things as my sheets (i.e. A1, A2, etc)

Thanks Peter- I add the white wood siding to the walls, amking sure it is on the correct side, I do a final quality rendering of it and I can barely see the line definetion of the siding. I think that may have something to due with the lighting. I then do a save view of the rendering. I then go back and and do another view(same view) of the house in a hidden line rendering. I am somewhat lost at this point- I think I might have missed a step or two

Sorry for the delay- Yes I do own renderworks- I am a little confused about the process you are describing Can you lease try and explain this one more time I am having difficuties acj=hieving what you are describing. Thanks Andrew

Is there a tool that I am able to add wood trim inside a room,base boards, exterior trim , or maybe even crown molding?

I am trying to add a dormer from a symbol to a roof face. I know you can do this if you make rood from creat roof command- but how about just from a roof face command?

I am trying to achieve a hindden Line rendering of a house with 8" horizontal wood siding. Can I apply a hatch to the wall and have come out in a hidden line rendering?? Is there any way to accomplish this. My goal is to have a view of the house in a right isometric and not have to go back in manually after the hidden line rendering and put hortizontal hatches? Please help-
