We had the same issue with section viewports not showing information correctly in 2018. It was on files converted from 2017. It didn't occur on every file converted, but we reverted back to using 2017 on the problematic files as we couldn't find a work around to fix the issue & didn't want to spend any more time trying to fix it.

We vote for a quick fix for this. New versions of the software are meant to be improvements, too often with each release, tools seem to get broken, instability creeps in, slowness is introduced etc.
Thanks

Great, thanks Jim.

I see this dates back to 2014. Where did the enhancement request get to? It would be useful.

This is definitely required. We increase the frame thickness to compensate, but it's not ideal.

We have seen similar behaviour. See attached files. I'm sure it is a bug with VW2018.

Have you tried opening the PDF in your web browser and then re-saving it from there?

I would like another option added to the Select Similar Tool Preferences. 'Locked' or 'Unlocked'.
It would be good to be able to select objects that are either locked or unlocked.
Thanks

It's very slow. Always has been.

Tried on VW2018 and nothing shows up at all with the Vehicle Swept Path tool. The path line is there, it's blank in top plan view, but visible in a 3D view, but no vehicle outline is displayed.
The Driving Curve also doesn't show the vehicle outline, but does if you choose 'Custom' as the vehicle type and enter the vehicle sizes manually.
What is the difference between the two tools?
They both don't seem to be functioning correctly. I did try these some time ago with the same results and gave up on trying to use them.

Jim, can you confirm this is a bug please. I don't think it matters if a simple or complicated way is used to create an object, if it can be created, then VW should display it. I just wanted a quick way to create a hollow box with no fill. I don't consider extruding lines complicated.
Thanks
Gadzooks, I've been using the 'choose files' button to upload an image.

Hi, can someone have a look at the attached file and let me know why the hidden line view is not showing correctly?
Try going to a right view or right isometric & choosing hidden line.
Is this a bug?
Thanks

The work around we use for this issue is to place the window numbers for each elevation on their own class.

Is there any update on whether back referencing is going to be added in 2018? We were requested recently by a Council processing one of our Building Consents to include back references on all details. This took considerable time and of course, they are all manually added, so no automatic coordination.
This doesn't seem like a major to implement.
Thanks

There is a roof truss PIO at Vector Depot http://www.vectordepot.com/older_plug-ins.html
Just standard type though, not parallel or scissor etc.

Hi Jim, is there any plans on addressing this issue in a future update?
Kind of defeats the purpose of sharing a file if it becomes unusable.
Thanks

Hi
We are using project sharing on a fairly large residential project. The file is currently around 100 MB and the project file is saved on our NAS drive.
We only have 2 working files, but we are noticing a 3-4 second lag when even doing the most minor drawing changes, and the information bar at the bottom of the screen says 'waiting for project file'.
Is a setting we can try, to avoid the lag? Working on the file now is painful.
Thanks

Would love this to be an option, although when a detail is referenced from multiple locations, you would have to have the option of choosing one back reference? We used to always back reference our details until we started using linked details.

Just realised that the printer setup scale also affects the placing of text using text styles, and placing hatch patterns. If the printer scale is set to 50%, they are all double the size.
Be preferable not to have the printer scale affect drawing, but at least we know why the odd behaviour now. Been annoying us for a long time.

Hi Josh
I just opened your file and it works perfectly fine for me. Are you on a MAC? We're on PC's.

Surface Hatches not aligning with Renderworks Textures
in General Discussion
Posted
This misalignment of surface hatches is a massive pain, and something we encounter regularly. It takes a lot of trial and error or touching up with annotations to correct.
If you could specify in the object info pallette the origin point for the hatch on each wall or surface, that would make it easy.
