  1. Hi,

I am using a Rectangle as the container for the dimmer on my label legend. For some reason, I cannot move that label on a unit-by-unit basis. When I select my light object, I get a selection handle for every other label, but there is no selection handle for the dimmer inside the rectangle.

    How can I adjust this?

    Thanks!

  2. Is there a way to change the default font mapping screen, so that Vectorworks assumes I want to map unknown fonts to Century Gothic (or any other font), instead of Geneva? It's really annoying to have to go through the menu and choose Century Gothic I want every time I open a new file.

  3. Really? No response?

Am I gonna have to pay for the next upgrade for a fix for this problem, just like I did to fix the broken "Automatch" feature in V12??

I have always found that using Light Position Objects in Spotlight is not worth it because the inconvenience of setting them up and editing them far outweighs the minimal benefits offered. Now they're even more useless. My first order of business from now on when receiving a new light plot will be to convert all the Light Position Objects back to symbols.

  4. How can I disable the new "feature" that allows instruments from being associated with the lighting positions they share space with?

While this feature is useful on a very basic light plot, Vectorworks 2008 can't discern between instruments in different layers, whether an instrument is supposed to be on the overhead pipe or on the floor. It also gets confused when dealing with units near the intersections of pipes on lighting grids.

  5. For quite some time I have been encountering a problem where my selected arrowhead style keeps changing from my chosen Attribute Default (7?, 0.15") to a "Custom" style of 0?, 0" (invisible).

When I draw a line with an arrowhead, I then have to click on that tiny little drop-down menu in the Attributes Palette to change it from "Custom" back to my default style.

Every time I change my style back to the default by deselecting everything, then changing the arrowhead style through the Attribute Palette, a few minutes later it changes back to "Custom" 0?, 0".

This was a problem I was having in Vectorworks 12, and it has carried over onto my new computer and upgrade to 2008.

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

  6. I don't know why, but my constraints palette frequently pops out about 10 pixels from the edge of my screen. This happens multiple times a day, and I do not know what causes the problem. I had the issue in Vectorworks 12 and now it has carried over into 2008.

I attached a link to a picture of the problem below. Any help is appreciated!

I am running Mac OS 10.4.11.

  7. Hi,

Just upgraded to SP2 and now the alignment loci (the little x's) are not showing up on my selected Text objects. It's pretty annoying, because I have no idea which direction my text will go when I edit the object.

Any way to get them back?

I am running Vectorworks Spotlight 2008 on MacOS 10.4.11. Might my problem be related to some functionality that was removed from Tiger to accomodate Leopard?

    Thanks!

  8. I would like to start a specific discussion of the "significant functional problems" afflicting Vectorworks 12.5.2 in the Leopard environment. Are they so severe that one cannot even attempt to run 12.5.2 on Leopard?

I noticed there were a few bugs posted on the "Complaining about Netschek's Intentions" posting, but perhaps we can do Nemetschek a service by consolidating our experiences here.

    Thanks!

  9. Is it me, or has Vectorworks changed the way Undo works with Nudge? If I recall, all consecutive nudges were undone by one command, but now each pixel is treated as its own Undo action. When I nudge objects around too much, it effectively kills my undo history so I can't go back to before I started nudging things.

  10. Still experiencing frequent crashes. I'm not convinced there is a problem with my drive, because I never had a single problem until I installed VW12. Then BANG! Crash after crash, with no apparent pattern (happens when I'm editing text, panning and zooming, moving lighting devices, etc.).

Could there be a problem with the symbols or label legends in my files that would be causing this?

Would upgrading to v12.5 solve my problems, if the installer didn't freeze in the middle?
