  1. The link should take you to the feedback page for "Unit Plan" Tom W. has linked above. Worth adding a comment and maybe an encouraging critical feature in the survey to help it keep on track.
  2. The following item on the roadmap seems vaguely promising for improvements in this area. https://www.vectorworks.net/en-AU/public-roadmap?url=unit-plan
  3. Yes Modal is bad.... Really bad in VW they keep adding it not taking it away.
  4. in the Publish command if the tick "Export Seperate PDF" in "File Export Options" then the naming system is applied to the PDF not the sheet in the PDF. Similarly the naming scheme can be applied to DWG and other export file types. Yes could be some improvements around saving naming schemes as it isn't the most obvious system and would benefit from being available across files or an office.
  5. It would be great if there was a single button on each title block to flag it for revision or issue. Then we could collect and apply the same note to all of them in one place.
  6. Not suggesting it is easy but there are any number of objects that could benefit from a Along a path mode. A generalised plug-in smart container for this could be useful.
  7. I'd use elevation markers as we'd generally also have annotations between each IE. Where a bent sections is a tool for showing the direct sectional relationship at that fold line.
  8. Yes, Maybe, Someone is bound to ask. So I guess best if first version doesn't paint the code design into a corner that can't be gotten out of. However the top example is what I'd expect to be cover by what is considered standard drawing convention around here. We'd just insert a little flag marker to say if internal verse and external corner. so the reader would have an idea. If the first version worked like that I'd be happy and it would streamline somethings indeed I'd suggest the most common uses cases to see if version 2 is indeed required. The other thing that would be great is if section lines could have an anchor point that tied them to the annotation space content. Allowing us to then the extend in or out from that point without then realigning the annotations. Useful in these cases as the 2 partial sections could share an anchor at the view fold.
  9. Apple has been optimising one as a command line tool on MacOS with both AS and IntelS support. there are others that allow API access in python so to me we could proof of concept at least and get it to work with VW. build our own is way beyond that but As I read it if you self host you can start doing dedicated training against your own image library start producing your own style.
  10. The Home Screen should be doc-able with the drawing window with it's own tab lie an open file. Once docked it should always behave like this or be a toggle option if there are people who like how it currently works. This would stop window being lost, once first file is open for the day making the interface more generally useful. Would also stop the welcome window being modal* and stoping the close or minimise buttons reducing the app to work on other things *We have spoken about Modal being bad before and here we are new dialogue in app that is modal. Bad engineers.
  11. Fake it till we make it.... Any SDK python gurus want to point us in the right direction? Can I get a script that tiggers on completion of rendering of a viewport then grabs the produced output? I suspect the hooks exist as Image Effects would need to do something similar? Indeed they'd need to handle the return as well. If we could leavage that then we are part the way to making our own.
  12. Fake till you make it and its 2023, nothing is even hinting at this on the roadmap and items on the map are 2 to 4 years out so not going to happen soon. We have been adding planes of transparency between major building elements or buildings on site to reasonable effect on larger projects so.... Given we have 3D grids in a way now. Maybe we could add an option to create a plane of renderworks texture to each grid. A slight haze transparency on each one would recede the drawing as it gets deeper off the view plane. Bigger buildings have more grids so it would be self managing.
  13. Current New sheet layers when created always have the Sheet Number "Sht-" is there a way to change the standard text? We use "Sk-" a lot for incidental sheets in the project. If we could change it to that it would in effect act as a tracker to the next Sk number in the job.
  14. was told many years ago - "don't worry about technical implementation, that Is the engineers' job. Just worry about the the why it's needed"
  15. Movement of camera in scene could be highly independent of building geometry. Vectorworks doesn't multitask in a way that lets us Welk and crew gum anyway. We are talking situations when the building model is fairly static and indeed snapshotting it and isolating it from live changes would be an advantage not a problem.
  16. Sure all possibilities of render setting should be able to be contained in a render style. Would add to that Image Effects used post render.
  17. We need the Bunji - marathon / halo engine only time I got stuck in those was the puzzles.
  18. Many of our clients are, we cut our teeth on how to use TM to our advantage after getting the cheap promo copy with VW last year. The learnings out of that is we want to be able to streamline that process but yes we want to let it loose on the clients. Panospots are great BTW for no fuss walk thru you can "leave" with the client to explore. There is hopefully a continuing evolution of the product and that semi-real presentation is great for people who don't get plans you see them engage and get the plans so much faster than without it. It is not so much about keep pace but getting better engagement with the client.
  19. By container class option would be just more generally useful even if Data Vis was robust as a feature.* I've found Data vis to be very very hit and miss on when it chooses to work.
  20. How many would be instantly more comfortable working and showing work in 3D if the 3D view navigation was more basically intuitive?* People get walking and looking around. The walkaround tool doesn't indeed walk around. The view tools we have have all there own quirks that make them frustrating even when do have some comfort with them and could all use and overhaul. Showing work is the most important part because we all don't want the embarrassment of trying to show a client a design to have the tools freak out on us. Like falling through the floor in Twinmotion while trying to talk kitchen cupboards. If walking around worked like really walking we'd let a larger range of clients free to explore digital twins of the design we are doing for them. I'd add the Wishlist for this we should have a 3rd Person view with an avatar of our choosing like in the video with a toggle switch to go between 1st person and over shoulder view. It should only be the avatar that can't walk through walls with the floating camera in 3rd person view ignoring walls or obstructions not visible to the avatar. * Aside- People who choose not the use the full value of the program they paid full dollars for shouldn't be dictating the extend of features.
  21. That made sense as it doesn't draw anything till the end but Redraw and or ResetObject(SPHand) don't seem to work. Well at least not so far
  22. Does any one know why the following doesn't assign the name the Space object that was just created. SPHand := Space_CreateSpace(LNewObj, (SHeightREAL * 1000)); Space_AddName(SPHand, SNameSTR); AlrtDialog (SNameSTR); The Alert reports the right name each time. Bonus Points if you can point me to a way to set the object style of the new space as well. Oh yes for some reason Height needed to be converted from mm even though length and width of space where find and entered identically.
  23. 6 year old thread 3 years since last post and having set a project with a split level recently I can confirm zero progress.
  24. Still we could use a central programme setting that defaults any "by class" set as true as standard. There are literally 100's of times we need to set and check these settings.
  25. MidJourney and most of the ones I've seen lock render time to 1 minute of GPU time for either a full image or a sample sheet of options. You can set it longer with self hosting or higher account levels but results are very good in that time for mood work.
