  1. Thank you mdarch, you are a star! Problem solved.
  2. I should have added that I am running VW12.5.1 on a 20" iMac with 2GHz Intel Core Duo processors and 2GB RAM
  3. I am having trouble retaining a rendered 3D image during real-time rotation using Open GL. I must be missing something in the settings because I can open old, complex 3D files from VW11 into VW12 and spin them around, but even a simple 3D cube does not render in real-time, the line view kicks-in during a spin. I have looked at all the preferences, responsive, detailed, etc, and set them to different values with no effect. I have noticed that when I take one of my older files and change the setting, say to more responsive, less detailed I lose the rendering during the next spin, and then it comes back on the next spin. I have read the Help topics that come with VW in detail, none of the topics made a difference. I have checked my computer-out for problems and the disk utility says all is well. I don't know if there can be a problem with the graphics card (Radeon X1600), but I ruled that out when I could spin older files and not newer ones. Any suggestions please?
  4. Ever since I upgraded to 12.5 I have lost the alert sounds from my right speaker, but only when using VW. I have tried setting my sounds in the preferences panes to all options, I have checked connections, scoured the forums with no luck. I am currently listening to iTunes in full stereo, yet at the same time Vectorworks is only 'clicking' out of the left speaker. I am using a 20" iMac with Harman Kardon speakers. It does the same with the HK speakers detached. By the way, my iMac recently had the main logic board replaced and it has not made any difference. It may sound trivial, but it is a distraction to have the alert sounds coming at me from the left all day long. Any suggestions?
  5. I meant to type OS10.1 not OS10.2. Reading other people's problems I have 256MB RAM installed and have ensured that there are no other applications running and the crashes still happen. To those who say that it is good not to have to re-boot they are obviously not losing work in the process, and I am saving my work frequently. Furthermore, my VW files are not stored within the VW applications area they are currently self-contained and not particularly complex.
  6. I have had some dongle related weird things happening too (OSX and VW9.5 on a Titanium G4). I tried swapping the dongle to different ports to ensure there wasn't a problem with my USB hub. The problem seems to have eventually settled down on its own accord - the only thing I was having trouble with at the same time was HP director, which I have upgraded via the web and stopped it (HP director) from starting-up at start-up.
  7. I have just started (2 days) using VW9.5 on OS10.2.1 and have very frequent crashes - it happens even when the program is idle. I cannot determine whether any particular command or action causes it. One thing is certain, it isn't an extension conflict!
