  1. Hi, I have been waiting for Vectorworks civil but that wish seems to have gone for good. Anyway, I do civil survey with Landmark. I get dwg files from the designers and then pick up items to be set out on the field with Trimble survey instrument. With working I am to have always the editing mode active and there is a real risk of moving the entire drawing by accident. For that reason I would want to see lock drawing position on and off feature. An other issue is with page centering. GPS instruments use coordinates with many numbers like N= 25748555,256 E= 6685441,255. In case I have a drawing around these coordinates it is difficult to get the page there in order to have a pdf dokument of the drawing. There should be a tool also for that. My third issue is about the stake tool. Always when using the tool I am to covert the units and decimals to suit my drawing. Then each time I am to choose dont show the units. I would change the order so that if you specially would want to have the units then you could choose to view them.
  2. Would somebody be so kind as to advise me step by step how to calculate volumes between two irregular point files. Let us say that there is point file A representing the existing site surface and point file B representing the proposed site surface for instance after the earthwork.Surfaces are not planar.Thank you.
  3. I do civil surveying and export stake objects as csv files to my data collector. Then I put the markings on the field. In case the drawing had moved that would be a disaster. Every measured point would lie a bit away from the correct position. Layer or class locking would be a really nice solution to my problema. Thank you.
  4. Would want to have a simple tag to switch on and off to lock the drawing in place. Prevents from accidential moving of the entire drawing. I know that there are ways to lock it, but just would not want to click so many times.
  5. I have a tiny site model about 500 survey points. The Z values are from 7,5 to 12 meters. I have made just the model without any site modifiers. My purpose is to calculate cut volumes to a planar datum by changing the datum value in the site model settings window. I have believed and learned that this is the simplest way to calculate volumes to a plane. There pigs up a problem when the height of the plane is between the lowest and highest elevation of the source data. It looks like somewhere when rising the elevation of the plane you start to get fill volumes instead of cut volumes. This change makes the tool dangerous when you dont know have you got cut or fill volumes of the earthwork. I would have expected to get both cut and fill automatically. Have I used the tool in a wrong way. I use metric units and Landmark 2016 SP3.
