  1. I have a single position with 4 fixtures that require side arms. I have these side arm symbols scattered throughout my drawing and they're not behaving this way anywhere else. When I drop them on 3 of the 4 fixtures in this position, they literally break in half. See picture. The c-clamp symbol flies about 3' left of the fixture with the pipe remaining in position. I've checked the side arm symbol, it's intact and is working perfectly fine in other positions on other fixtures. I'm using the lighting accessory tool to drop them in, though I've tried just using the symbol insertion tool as well. I've tried replacing the fixture with a different type and that fixes it. I've narrowed it down to an issue with my 14 degree fixture symbol. I'm at a loss for how to fix this though. What do I need to change in the 14deg symbol? It's not drafted in 3d.
  2. When I do that, it moves all 4 "cells"/fixtures over the distance I moved the selected part. It's as if they're grouped, but they're not.
  3. I'm having some difficulty swapping striplight symbols to new symbols. I have a plot with say 24 strip lights that were drafted as all Altman zip strips. I need to swap some of them to L&E Mini strips. When I do that, the symbols are spaced differently, so I want to drag the symbols together to make one cohesive instrument. However, when I grab one section, it moves the whole light! Is there a way to break them apart that I'm unaware of? In the attach PDF, the strip light symbols on the left are what I'm changing, and the strips on the right are the issue. i want to close the gap between the new symbols. Thanks striplights issue.pdf
  4. have you tried just deleting the .xml file and resyncing LW/VWX? EDIT: If you're on dropbox or other file sharing service, I'd recommend saving all files to a local drive (your desktop) and re-trying.
  5. In the future, I would assign address and other info in the Lightwright file, then just sync that file with any new plot she submits. You'll probably have to do some fixing if fixtures significantly changed but just go through the list LW populates and make appropriate modifications.
  6. What I ended up doing was ignoring the data merge since it was 8 items that didn't exist on the plot anyways. Maybe that was the issue? The two files have been syncing just fine since. I'll try restarting the process in a bit and see what happens.
  7. Vectorworks is repeatedly crashing after trying to sync to a file that LW6 has updated. It just stops responding as soon as it starts if there's an .xml file to sync to. When I delete the .xml file, it no longer crashes, but when I make a new one and sync it with LW6, vectorworks stops responding again. I've tried running as administrator, moving all files off dropbox to my deskstop, and deleting the xml file. This was working fine yesterday when I left work. Any suggestions?
  8. Hey folks, My lighting positions are renaming themselves with a "-1" at the end of the position name despite the symbols having the correct name. For example, the 1 Bay symbol is called 1 Bay, but the position name is "1 Bay-1". When I try to rename the position name by deleting the -1, it auto corrects to "1 BAZ". Is it because the symbol names share position names? What's the best way to fix this?
  9. Can you elaborate on this process? Do you create a symbol of what you're importing and import that? Doesn't that still create the whole myriad of classes?
