  1. We are trying to export a working file for subcontractor use (yikes...) but want to limit it to 'read-only'. We do not have access to Autocadd but wand to create a DWG file from Vectorworks export that is read-only. Is this possible to do from VW or must we create it from within Autocadd?
  2. Hello. I am trying to figure out if it is possible to constrain a cross-sectional profile while twisting an object. For instance we have a 5 1/2" x 18" glulam that will be bent in all three dimensions. When I currently array the simple profile to be twisted it seems to elongate in an unrealistic way relative to the material that will be used. The attached is an extrusion along path (first image). The second image shows it twisted and distorted. The third is it in its overall final form which is cool, but not usable in our design given the constraints of the actual material. Is this easily remedied in how I model the solid? Is it a 'Constraint' setting somewhere that I have not found? Thanks to all.
  3. We are currently experiencing this issue in v2021. Is there a System Preferences notice (Apple) or is there any icon or badge that shows up in the user interface? The question posted at the top of this thread is spot-on and exactly what we would wish for....just a quick pop-up window notice that the Project file has been updated.
  4. Okay...I figured it out and its is clearly an accidental 'click' in a box of the Viewport Advanced Properties..... For "Marker Scaling" I apparently accidentally clicked "Auto Scale" to which the dimension arrow shrunk by the scaling factor of the page layout. Reverting back to "Custom Scale" and leaving it to the default factor of 1, all was fixed.
  5. Having a sudden issue in my 2D plan in my sheet setup. The dimension string shows up proper in the workspace (Image 1). When in viewport they appear to have vanished (image 2)but are actually scaled very small when zoomed in and "zoom line thickness" turned off (image 3). It does not effect other current viewports already established. I have made sure all layers are 2D and I have tried matching properties with the eyedropper to dimension strings that do work and nothing. Also I have simply copied and pasted into the plan that I'm having issues with dimensions that show up fine in other viewports and they suddenly show the same way. It seems to be a Viewport property but all scalling factors are still set to 1 and nothing is different than any of the other viewport properties that are working fine. I should say my dimensions are on the actual drawing in the workspace for all viewports. All others work but this newest one does not. This file is not 3D or BIM. It is not a shared file. It is simply a .vwx and exists locally on my computer. Old school on this one. Is there some property or default attribute I may have adjusted through a quick key error that I was not aware of?
  6. I just installed/upgraded to 2017 and have the same issue. I have a custom workspace I have created and attempted to delete and re-add the 'recent files' option. Just numbers, no names of files. HOWEVER, If I select '1' it does indeed open the last file I opened. So I guess the bug is that the file names are not appearing/registering. Any idea how to fix this or if VW is working on a patch?
  7. Greetings all, So I've recently upgraded to VW2016 from a much, much older VW. I re-created my workspace to suit what I have been using and effective in 2D for nothing shy of 15 years now. However, once in 2016 and taking advantage of the 3D capabilities I reassigned the 'B' key which is the X-Ray select mode. Does anyone know where I can find this in the Workspace Editor so I can reinstate its use in my modified workspace? It doesn't appear under any "select" or "view" menu or tool options nor any 3D that I could find. Thanks all and apologies for what I feel like is a wildly remedial inquiry.
