  1. I can insert an image function in my plant list to show the symbol next to the plant name.  When I do this though it shows the symbol with all the classes on so I can see the hydrozone, irrigation, and interior linework.  Can I control which classes it shows?

  2. I would like to be able to select landscape areas by fill style.  If I have a site with 10 different plant palettes and each palette has about 50 landscape areas associated with it then I have to manually select each landscape area when I want to edit the whole group and end up wasting a lot of time.  Currently I can only select all 500 landscape areas with the object type option on the Select similar tool.

Click on camera and go fine tune and adjust the perspective angle or select normal perspective.

Yes, I tried normal perspective it doesn't seem to make a difference.

Perspective angle didn't take the warping away, just made it less.

I'd prefer to use orthogonal though.  The problem I have is it doesn't show me the camera view from where I placed the camera, it shows me a view from 100s of feet away from the site model

  4. Hi, I'm using project sharing for the first time.  There are three people sharing- two successfully checked out files.  The other person's vwx program crashed as soon as they opened the working file. Anyone else have that happen?

  5. I have a file with 2D plans that I added a 3D model to later in separate layers.  I finished the model, did a couple rounds of revision on the 2D (including copy+pasting new work from other consultants into this file) and the file has been working fine.  Then today I open it and the 2D symbols have polygons (other 2d symbols) as their 3d component.  They never had a 3D component to begin with.  The ones that did have a 3D component were showing the wireframe view of the model even when in Top/plan view.  I solved this by deleting the objects in the 3d component, but am still curious if I did something to cause this that I can avoid in the  future.

Also the polyline buildings I drew are not visible unless I am in that layer.  They disappear as soon as I go to a different layer, even though their layer and class are on.  I solved this by going in to the model layer and just using the flyover tool.  That seemed to do the trick.  Any guesses as to what's going on there?  Is this just my graphics card not refreshing? (AMD Radeon R9 M395X 4096 MB)

    Thank you.

Is "Closed" checked in the resulting object's Object Info Palette? I've had that happen on occasion and create extra vertices.

No, when I close it it then continues the line to the other end point (not stopping at midpoint).

  7. I use compose to create a curving polyline line from 2 arcs.  Lately it creates a polyline, but it ruins the S curve by trying to connect one of the ends to the mid point.  Can anyone advise?  Thank you.

Images below are 2 arching lines before composing and what it looks like after composing:

  8. I am used to highlighting the entire database header, copying it, and then pasting it in the cell in column A of the row where I want it, row 12 for example.  This is no longer working.  Now it pastes the header starting in cell B 12, leaving A 12 blank.  I've also tried highlighting the entire row 12 then pasting, I get the same result.  Can someone advise I'm not looking forward to copy + pasting every single cell for 20 different headers.  Thank you.

I don't have renderworks so unfortunately texture beds are of no use.

Does hardscape tool allows you to use texture beds?  Thats what I use.  In the OIP there is a drop down menu for 'Show 3D' and you can choose Texture bed if you want it to conform to the contours of the site model.  You can then select the hardscape and apply a texture, or you can apply by class.  You have to make sure that in your site model settings that layer is allowed to modified the site.  There are other 3D options in the hardscape tool, like slab, but for flat hardscape I usually just make an extruded polygon and set it to the z height that I want.  It seems easier to me because then I don't have to create as many pads and contours.

  10. I'm using the mandarin orange tree from the vwx library and It just shows the 2 crossed yellow planes with no image prop inside.  Yet when I edit 3D, the tree is there.  I've sent it to surface, checked classes, checked settings in OIP, made sure I'm in open GL.   I placed it in a new file and it's visible there.   Other image props also appear blank.  Am I missing something?  Thank you.  I'm editing to add: this file was created in vwx 2017 on November 14th, it's not a file that got converted from vwx 2016 version.

  11. Attached is an image of a staircase with landings and a retaining wall on one side.  The lower staircase was easy, just 2 sloping contours and the adjacent pads.  The upper part required a lot more work because of the landings and the sloping terrain adjacent.  Could these sloping contours be automatically generated as a feature added to the stairs?

Alternatively, could you give the contour the operability  of the 3D polygon so i can snap it to the edges of the stairs with the correct Z height (ie not have to set z height in the OIP)?

  12.  Not sure if you need the contours to remain as 3D polygons, if not you could try this:

Modify> Convert to> Lines, then you can make it a dashed line.

If you are using these in a site model you can change the Graphic Properties of the contours in the Site model settings.

  13. I'm reposting my wishlist item here incase you're interested in voting for it.  I don't know if thats against the rules, but it's a landmark wish and seems to be lost among all the architecture wishes so I figured that you guys were not seeing it.  Please vote here, thank you: https://forum.vectorworks.net/index.php?/topic/46373-need-better-workflow-for-editing-landscape-areas/#comment-235852

The post reads:  "The way Landmark is set up means that once I draw a polygon I have to convert it to a landscape area, an irrigation design area, a hydrozone area, and an irrigation drip area.  Having all of these different objects works up until the point at which the design starts changing.  Then I have to edit the size/shape of each object individually every time the architect changes their design or the planning department asks for a change.  This is a huge time waster in my office and incredibly mind numbing work.

Can you either link all of the areas so editing the size/shape of one of them edits them all -or- allow one area to contain all of the same information?"
