  1. Just after you hit your "Final render" button, hit escape, and the render will be aborted. You can now use the export image command without rendering the scene twice. Although your render doesn't show on screen, it is rendered. If you like to make a preview first, you can always render first with lower quality settings. Hope this helps a little bit as well.

  2. When we assign the command-/ key to flip-horizontal for instance, the command works, but also opens Safari+help. If we assign this shortcut to document preferences it also works, but then it doesn't open Safari. What is going on here, is this a bug?

  3. you can also try to use the grid transparancy with a very small grid, from a distance you can get quit a good result. And indeed you can use the constant reflection as well. Hope I helped you!

  4. We used to have a problem when turning on the black background. Some objects that had a "pure" white filling turned black in the rendering. This happened in VW 9. Now we just use a black background with our renderings. I don't know if you have the same problem. You could also try to fill the walls with a slightly offset white. ie. 255,255,254. Maybe this helpes?

  5. If you create a helix spiral and then use a circle to extrude along path (select helix). Then you can change the scale of the profile along the path (the helix). So you get a 3d spiral that starts with a "thick" profile and ends with a thinner/smaller profile. I don't know if this is what you're after?

  6. I have a pdf containing some vector information. Is it possible to import this data in vw? I know with windows it's possible with gsview and so on... But isn't there a simple plugin for either VW or Acrobat (we have the full pro version). I tried copy and paste, but with no luck. Thanks

  7. I think this is just how it works. The command makes a section of the faces. Maybe it's something for the wishlist. You could close them with the 3dpolygon tool (I think...). If you then group those polygons you can give them a nice reddish (or something) color. (just an idea)

  8. Hello, I read somewhere that you could move a symboll that is inserted in a wall with the move command and that you can even duplicate it using the alt/ctrl key (Within VW 10.5). But when I tried this I found out that this doesn't work for me. Is it possible to move an inserted symbol in a wall with the move or nudge command? This would be very helpful and works much quicker than the position button in de OI palette.

Maybe there is already an answer to this, but I could find it in these forums. Thanks in advance.

  9. Why is it not possible to give a class and a symbol (or texture) the same name? For instance, if a have a class named "2" I can't name a symbol or texture "2" as well. I think this is somewhat frustrating sometimes. A class and a symbol are two different elements in a drawing. Maybe there's a good explanation for this "feature". Maybe it's something for the wishlist (VW 11?) Thanks

  10. Thanks for the quick replies, indeed a numeric value would be great, but with some experimenting (and some tips from the forum [smile] ) I think I would be able to get some nice glass texture.

  11. Hello, I'm looking for a glass material/texture for architectural renderings, the glass that comes with VW doesn't really suit my needs, are there simple ways to create a nice looking glass facade. I'm using VW 10.5. Thanks
