  1. Is there a way to take a lofted surface and turn it into a flat 2D template for cutting fabric or sheet metal?

    Truss in 3D

I also create simple extruded squares that have the same dimesions as the truss i am ultimately going to use. Simply shaped symbols that reprent complex truss are faster to work with and easier to look at while spinning around in 3D, and can have bold colors representing their length. Once everything is in place either use 'replace symbol' under properties and replace with the detailed truss symbol. Or 'edit' the symbol and swap the simple shape for the detailed truss. 3D rotation etc.. should stay the same. This approach is handy for all hybrid objects that are trickier to rotate in 3D. Hope this helps
  3. How does go about creating a wall that boths curves and slopes?
  4. I use an HP designjet 430 (D/A1). Driver is current. Win 98 se
  5. I have had similar experiences when printing VW plots in both v9 and v8.5.2. Most recently a small portion of a symbol was missing on just one instace of several in a drawing and only on the first 2 prints of 4 -very hard to spot [ended up fixing it with a sharpie!]. In the past I've had 1/2 a layer not print or one or two lighting fixtures dissapear. The files are not particularly big. Very concerning.
  6. All images are exporting without problem this evening. Go figure. Thanks for the help. I would have had no idea quicktime was involved was it not for this tech board.
  7. I just downloaded and installed the latest version of quicktime (5.0.2) and now am able to export images -all except for jpegs it seems. Very curious.
  8. Nothing AT ALL seems happen when I try to export as an image file from VW9. No dialog or options. Works on my laptop and not on my desktop. Both running win98se. [ 12-13-2001: Message edited by: tim s ]
