  1. Thanks Alex, I was afraid of that. I was hoping it was something else stupid I may have done so I could finish the project and show the client. Guess the renderings will have to do.
  2. Nomad on my iPad keeps crashing when I try to view a 3d or AR version of an uploaded 2019 drawing. I've tried deleting and reloading Nomad, and re-uploading the file to could services, but to no avail. Never had the crashing issue with 2018. Any suggestions? https://cloud.vectorworks.net/links/11e927fa994e712681ef0e9334f5e774/ https://cloud.vectorworks.net/links/11e927fb67ba718681ef0e9334f5e774/
  3. I've been attaching lights without to converting to hanging positions. It just limits me to hanging them on the centerline of the truss instead of being able to hang them front or back, bottom or top cord. I'm going to try the hanging position way next. The thread discusses how the screen attaches but not the projector, and so far I have found the opposite to be true.
  4. I found an error in my geometry in the 3D model of my corner that was prohibiting the calculations. All good on that now. Time to research the other connectivity issues with lights, screens, and audio. Thanks everyone for the help, and the place to vent.
  5. Thanks Rob. I modified an existing Tomcat truss to create the corner to keep the connectivity.
  6. Thanks for the vid. That confirms I was building my corners similarly enough. I've re-created 2 different brands, Total Structures and Show Solutions. Here is a smaller file with the samples of what I've built so far. Both corners, the geometry works to get them to connect, but the octagon with the total structures corners "cannot be calculated". 7. I am making a similar octagon, but with fixed corners. Had to play with the "Customize" features until I got the geometry correct. I used the "Edit 2D Symbol" option to take as exact measurements as I could for L1, L2 and L3, and then make minor adjustments with the "Customize" button in the OIP. I'm struggling now with Braceworks coming back with "The static system could not be calculated". All connections are being made, and the motors are connecting properly. Frustrating when it tells me there is a problem, but won't tell me what it is.
  8. According to the webinar hosted by Moritz Staffel, lighting objects could be used as point loads, but no direct example was used. I'm having the same issue with connecting fixtures to the truss in order to run the calculations. Has the bug mentioned above been worked out yet?
  9. Thanks, I'll use some "insert load" and "insert drop" tools to compensate.
  10. So the Auto Connect feature for truss symbols is really nice, it was something I missed moving over from WYSIWYG. I'm building a rig, and using Braceworks for the first time with, and was wondering if there is a way to connect truss together, not at a usual connection point, but with grapples, book hinges, etc. I could stack the truss on top or bottom, but it is not exactly the same, and I'm just curious if that math has been worked out yet in the software to account for the truss load deflections when connected like that.
  11. An old topic, but the work around I've used is the Straight Truss tool with the settings: Profile: Flat Connection: None Top Lacing Diameter: 0" Side Lacing Diameter: 0" Then it lets you work with it in 3D
  12. Using VW2016, with current service pack, I am having an issue with when I minus out my OIP, and then re-open it with a different object selected, a screen pops up that wants me to "Select IFC Entity". Is there a way to shut this off?
  13. Ok, I figured it out. I was not setting the working plane at the beginning of the project.
  14. I'm still very new to Vectorworks, so bear with me. When I switch views between Top/Plan and any other Standard View, the ruler changes and I loose the "real world" dimensions. Can someone point me in the direction of where I change the setting so I can still work with "real world" dimensions on the rulers?
