  1. Hello, I'm new to Vectorworks and have created my floor plan on a single design layer. When I change the view to "right" for example to view the elevation, it's obviously showing all lines for all the content within my plan, which makes it quite hard to decipher. How do I view a single wall elevation, and not the full depth of my floor plan? I was going to create all my elevations on separate design layers, but should my floor plan be on different design layers so that I only see a portion of the space? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
  2. Hello, When adjusting a wall thickness (after the wall has been inserted), I've been trying to figure out how to adjust the control line mode so it's either left or right (as you can when creating the wall in the first place). I'm sure there must be a way but I can't find it - can anyone help? Thanks!
  3. Hi there, Do you have any new interior symbols you can share for Vectorworks 2016 users? I can't actually find some symbols available at all in the default libraries, such as bathroom vanity units. Thanks!
  4. Hi, I'm aware that furniture falls into it's own class within Vectorworks, and placing a piece of furniture as a symbol will default to "Furniture-Main" in the classes palette. I have amended the class settings for this (pen thickness), however when I print my viewport, there is still some pieces of furniture that are displaying thicker than others. I've double-checked that all furniture is definitely within the same class, and even tried creating a separate class for my furniture under the settings I want, but still no luck. Please can someone help? Thanks!
  5. That does seem to be where I'm navigating; the file path is Library - Application Support - Vectorworks - 2014 - libraries - doesn't seem to be working unfortunately!
  6. Thank you for the guidance! I've followed the steps to downloading and installing the relevant symbols and resources. When I'm in the resource browser and navigate to "add new favourite files", all the folders I'm directed to on my Mac are empty however. I'm currently running VW in Evaluation mode, as I'm at the early stages of practicing and not creating official drawings - could this be why? Thanks in advance!
  7. Hi there, I'm new to Vectorworks and am struggling with some of the absolute basics, so hoping someone can help! I'm using Vectorworks 2014 Designer. I'm trying to create a sofa, but I can't see any sofa in the tool set under "furn / fixtures". All I can find is the seating layout tool to create multiple seats together. I've tried creating my own from simple rectangular shapes but it's fiddly and not accurate. I'm sure there must be a simple way to access furniture beyond what is in the tool set - I don't know how to access furniture symbols for existing pieces, or if I need to specifically import these. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
  8. Hi, This may sound like an obvious question - but if I am starting out as an Interior Designer, am I best using VW Architect or Designer? I will only be using it to create 2D drawings (mostly internal) and will not be copying over any existing plans (ie. I will be drawing plans from scratch in Vectorworks). What are the key differences between Architect and Designer? Also, do I need to make use of many of the various wall styles, or are many of these irrelevant for what I need? Thanks! Shanna
  9. Thanks very much POA and zoomer! I will check those out and see how I go.
  10. Hi all, I'm new to Vectorworks in general and using Architect. I'm trying to find a video tutorial that gives me an overview of the building shell toolset, but struggling to find one - I would like an introduction into how to use the basic tools - wall join, component join, window, etc. Can anyone help? Thanks!
