Exactly. I need to dig into scripting then or wait for Marionette since I have zero knowledge about scripting. Imagine that you have a building 15 stories where some of them are not the same and plenty of rooms, do you have manually to click on each space in order to place the name of each space? From my point of view this will be a huge time saver. Now this will be part of drawing organization, only one key symbol will have that record format... for example bed has the Bedroom data, only beds can be in bedroom, then a stove has the kitchen data, only stoves can be in kitchen and so on. Yes a little difficult to explain here, let´s see... It could work in the opposite way: 1- You draw your walls 2- Place a symbol (bed, desk, chair, any symbol) this symbol has a record field for example Room type: Library. 3- When you hit Create Spaces from Walls, then the Custom Space Name displayed in the viewport will read that symbol record field (Library) Cheers, Juan

Ok, I think I´m getting the grip of it, thank you. Now I see that in the OIP the space name of that specific symbol, it´s great, but can be done in the opposite? For example: I have a bed symbol and pre-attach the Space name "Bedroom" when I create a Space for that room where that bed is the Space name is automatically displayed as "Bedroom". Hi all, Is there a way to "link" an object to spaces? For example, I make my walls and put a bed in one of those rooms, when I click create spaces from walls I would like that the command read the room that has the bed then automatically the space is called bedroom. The same if I put a toilet seat in one room, then the command is called automatically wc. Makes sense? Cheers, Juan

Hi all, Would be great if the Navigation palette could offer some more options right on the palette without going into edit, for example: 1- Renaming classes, layers, etc would be nice to have the same system than when you rename a file in Windows, click on the layer and then another click on the name so you will be able to rename it without any extra pop up window. 2- Elevation, layer wall height, opacity could be added as optional fields on the design layer and the values can be edited right on the layers panels without the need to open a popup window, here is mockup: I think this enhancements will boos the productivity and speed up the workflow considerably. Hi all, I would love to keep drawing my walls while changing the width of each one. It is a real pain to select one wall, draw it the finish the action, choose another width and keep drawing. Hope it makes sense. Cheers, Juan

Functionally they are very similar and have the same purpose, however one would not transfer directly into the other from C4D > Vectorworks, for instance. Of course, not planning to "port" my objects but it is awesome, so my knowledge in xpresso will help me to do setups in Marionette then. Cheers, Juan

Thanks for confirm it. I have few custom symbols with same width but different height and for that I have to check the size on the Shape tab and write down on the Data tab, nothing fancy or worth to make a worksheet in this cases. Maybe this can become a wish? Tabs on OIP and even dare to say in the Navigation palette can be "undockable" so the user will have even more freedom to customize the workspace. Cheers, Juan

Hi all, Is there a way to detach the Data tab from the Shape tab on the Object info palette? I often work with record format but in order to write down that info I have to navigate all the time to the shape tab to see the size of some objects and I can assure you, this is an exhausting task the back and forth navigation between tabs. Hi all, Would be great if VW could be a little "smarter" when importing documents. If VW could recognize the file type that is open via the dialog Open we could get rid of all the import list, so it would be more straight forward, and then when we click ok then the respective dialog with the options will appear.
