  1. You have it working on a Mac? With our files there are almost always lines missing somewhere. And to make it more interesting, the missing lines change. Nemetschek knows about this problem but they said it way only on Macs. We have to go back to 9.5 if we want to convert to line or cut a 3D section.
  2. Another problem with version 10 is that it does not convert copy to lines or cut 3D section. We have to take our files back to version 9.5 to do this.
  3. Thanks for the reply. Fred Perkins Perkins & Company
  4. I posted a message earlier about disappearing objects when using convert to lines or cut 3D section. I can't believe that our office is the only one having this problem. It happens on most of our jobs, but it is transitory and hard to replicate exactly. We now go back to version 9.5 when we need to get elevations with convert to lines. Is there any fix other than going back to the old version? Fred Perkins
  5. We are having a problem using ?Convert Copy to Lines? tool in version 10. Often lines that are definitely in the model disappear. We have to take our models to 9.5 to covert to lines. There was one message like this in the discussion forum but no explanation. Is there any cure or any fix coming? Mac osX 10.2.6 and Vectorworks 10.1.2
  6. I have had many unexpected quits and fixing the permissions does not help. It seems to only happen with certain files, which leads me to belive that there is something in the file that the program is chocking on. Fred Perkins
  7. Does anyone know of a solution for this problem? Or does anyone send out PDFs to an Oce printer without getting the grey bitmaps?
  8. I have a couple different printers trying to get answers from Oce, but they are not getting much help.
  9. We have a similar problem sending out PDFs. Any bitmaps we include on the drawing have the whites come out slightly grey. I think the problem is with how the Oce interprets the postscript in the PDF. If we send the same PDF to our HP 800, it prints fine.
  10. No, I don't have classic or any other programs running.
  11. I have also been plagued with a lot of unexpected quits in 9.5.3/10.2.4. I have tried several times to fix the permissions to no avail. We were having a similar problem with 9.5.3 and os 9.2 which seemed to only happen to certain files. Is there a chance that there is something in the file that can be causing the problem?
  12. A couple of the worst Quitters did need a new carbonlib so we'll see if that offers any help.
  13. Thanks for the reply Katie, but unfortunately RAM allocation can?t be the problem because it is happening in a variety of cases where the physical RAM varies from 500 MB to 1.5 GB and the program allotment varies from 100 to 400 MB. It could be an extension conflict, but we run fairly basic systems. Updating the Carbonlib seems to have helped today, but that might have more to do with the phase of the moon. Since updating the Carbonlib there has only been one quit which is not great, but it is considerably better than the crippling ten time a day. I was under the impression that this was a somewhat common problem for other users, so I am surprised that you have not encountered it before.
  14. We are not using the files over the network, they are on the individual computers. The memory allotment to the program varies from 100 to 400 MBs and the computers are a variety ranging from Cubes to Dual gigs.
  15. Our office has been having the random quitting problem sporadically for awhile but it is now becoming too much. I?ve heard other discussion of the problem but no solutions. The problem is that the program will quit at random intervals. For some people it has been over ten times a day. Occasionally there is a type 2 error message but not always. We have 14 users and most have been having the problem but some haven?t. We are using Mac OS 9.2.2 and VectorWorks 9.5.1. If there is not a solution, or a fix coming soon, I will have to think about going back to 8.5 which will be a major hassle.
  16. Is there any way to store that setting so you don't have to go back to it everytime? I tried clicking on the save settings button in the Laserwriter driver, but the settings do not stay after quiting the program.
  17. I have a file that has rather unfortunately been duplicated on top of itself. Is there a vectorscript or other magic to get rid of duplicate objects?
