I print out a VW 2018 file on my home printer and it comes out slow as molasses; I convert that same document to a pdf file and it spits it right out. What's going on and is there anything I can do about it?

Under Fractional Display for Dimensions in the Units submenu there are 3 choices: the middle option, let's call it the diagonal formatting, works quite well for most fonts when dimensioning an object but does not appear to be available outside the dimension tool, such as in straight text. What's the workaround?
