  1. Katie: Thank you for your reply. I edited the door ID symbol via the Resource Pallette to what I wanted. As far as the Finish Schedule / Room Name ID are concerned, I had read the info in the Manual prior to my initial post. What I was looking for wasn't there. When you insert a door into a drawing for example, in the Obj Info pallette under the Shape tab there is an option to check to have door/symbol On Schedule or not. That option was available for the Room Name tool in previous versions - it is not available in V10. What happened to it?
  2. I have been a VW user since 8.5.2. (Prior to that I drew by hand) Although I like the program in general a few things have gotten under my skin: In 8.5.2. I was able to change the size of the door ID labels, this was especially helpful when drawing 1/8" plans. Since version 9 I have been unable to change the default size of the label - even tried to change the symbol in the labels file - no luck. And now in Version 10, not only is the label ridiculously large, but contains a bizarre font - I have no idea what it is, and I can't seem to chnage it - it makes my drawings look more like cartoons than CD's. Room Finish Schedule & Room Name Tool: in version 10 there is no option for room name & data to appear on schedule or not - why not? And room name & number does not automatically appear on schedule when created, it used to. That information has to be entered in data fields manually - a major time waster on large projects. It appears that regards to the above 2 items the program has gotten worse rather than improve! P4 2.2 Ghz 512 RAM Windows XP gnkarch
  3. Katie: I have experienced same problem w/ my HP430 occasionally. I do not believe that it is a memory issue - I have the max 36MB installed in my printer & am using driver 4.62. Problem has occurred in VW 9.5.2, most often on sheets with Worksheets (schedules). Have not done much plotting yet with 10.0.1., but so far so good! Windows XP Home P4 2.23 512 RAM
  4. Robert: I have read the post Why Are My Redlines Black?, and checked the none class & unchecked the "Use Graphic Attributes at Creation" box. And that has worked for most objects. I can manually select the class color for the objects that appeared in black, and the objects will change to appropriate color. However doors remain drawn in black even though windows will change color. Why won't the doors change color as well as other objects?
  5. You need to adjust your parking layout tool in VW10 Architect, so hanicapped parking space option reflects A.D.A. standards. The default 12'-0" width w/o striped aisle space does not meet the current standard of 8'-0"W space w/ striped aisle of 8'-0"W (van accessible)or 5'-0"W. As it is currently, H.C. spaces must be created manually as well as the aisle spaces.
  6. Robert: This occurs only with PIO's created from Object Palette. PIO's selected from Resource Palette, display in the appropriate class colors, etc. Katie: I am familiar with the Class Dialogue block. I always click Yes &/or Yes Always. Regarding the file in question, the objects displaying incorrectly were assigned to their correct class from the start & were never changed. However, after reading your post, I selected several doors (placed by Task Mgr in Sills Class), the Object Info palette listed the objects as "Doors in Wall" - I changed the class to None, clicking Yes in the Class Dialogue block, and then changed the class back to Sills, again clicking yes. The walls that the doors were inserted in changed to the Sills class color (blue), but the objects remained black. This is not a big problem, but I would like to know how to correct this.
  7. Nope! Neither option is checked.
  8. Am working in VW10. Any object inserted into the drawing from the Objects Palette, is drawn in black color lines. If an object is selected, the attributes palette indicates the correct class color & line weight, as opposed to what is shown on the drawing. This occurs when using the Task Manager & Class and layer are set correctly. If I create a symbol from scratch (rectangle, etc.) it is drawn in the proper color and class. I updated my video driver a few days ago, so that's not it. What's going on? P4, 2.23 Ghz 512 Mb RAM Windows XP home
  9. Yes, I receive the same error mesage regarding the task manager using the exercises included on the Architect training disk. I just manually set the class & layer to match the exercise, and proceed with the exercise.
  10. Robert: If you read my first post, you will notice that the first thing I did after encountering the problem was to update my video driver.
  11. Robert: The file that I had trouble with was set up using the "Document Setup", Model Setup", and Create Standard Sheets" utilities in that order. The file was the my first and only so far on VW10. I didn't install program until 1/8/03. When the file caused the program to crash, that file would not appear on the current file list, under the File menu. As an experiment, I opened the file, then closed the file without making any modifications. That file then appeared on the Current File list. I re-opened the file from the Current Files list, and to my surprise the operation(s) that caused the file to crash the program, no longer did so. Explain that one to me!
  12. Thanks for your reply P. After reading your reply I opened VW10, created 2 rectangles & 1 line on untitled doc that opens w/ program. Selected 1 object, than all 3 w/o experiencing problems. The file that I am experiencing problems w/ was setup w/ VW Architect project setup commands. The program will crash when selecting just 1 object & attempting to change its attributes. Objects are on Floor Plan sheet, Mod-Floor layer.
  13. Just upgraded to VW Architect 10.0.1. Have read with interest problems with runtime errors. My installation seemed to go fine. This morning I began my first project on VW10. When selecting more than 1 object, and attempt to change attributes of objects (objects are rectangles and lines in none class), the program crashes: "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error! Program C...path (VW10) This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application support team for more information." I updated my video driver this morning(suggested by Katie on a previous post) to no avail. If anyone can offer a solution, I would appreciate it. Windows XP Home P4 2.23 Ghz 512 Mb RAM NVIDIA 64MB DDR GeForce 3 Ti200 (Dell) In the meantime, back to VW 9.5.2. At least that version works. GNKARCH
  14. Just to update my situation (as if anyone cares). A few days ago I phoned HP for some answers. We ended up downloading and installation driver v4.60 for Windows NT 4.0 and it works perfectly!
  15. I have checked the box marked print patterns at on screen resolution, but it doesn't make any difference.
  16. I have had similar problem with Designjet 430. This past week I "upgraded" to a Windows XP computer, and likewise upgraded the Designjet driver to v4.61 (compatible with XP). The plotter will not plot fill patterns, just solid black fills. I was using VW 9.5 with a Win98 system w/o problems. I have contacted HP (tonight), maybe they have an answer by now. Has anyone solved this problem yet w/o resorting to exporting to VW8.5.2?
