  1. Rendered perfectly in the end 🙂 @Zoomer
  2. Further to my recent post regarding Matisseian rendering (left) I was pleasantly surprised to find RenderCezanne turn up today mid render. 🙂 (right, top obv)
  3. @lineweight this was done in RW using a standard create viewport from a clip cubed perspective view cheers D
  4. Are you saying the simple stair is legacy and the (newer) stair tool is the one which doesn't show solid? I abandoned the newer stair tool some time ago being much happier in legacy-luddite land! I love the visualization of the clip cube tool especially as you can also do cut throughs in perspective. I have to say we used to issue 3-4 versions of our planning drawings (x8 dwgs) (x35 jobs a year) but now we only have to issue 2 versions as the clients "get" the space almost immediately. It saves soooo much time and is a pleasure to work with. This advanced feature was introduced in 2019 so credit where credit is due! I give you the 4 storey Richmond beast!
  5. Hi @Christiaan I don't seem to suffer from that particular problem? This is taken from a clip cube into a sheet layer using a standard create viewport command. The stair is derived from the simple stair tool. Or maybe I've misunderstood? Happy to help if I can cheers D
  6. 2 to 3d is indeed a steep learning curve. It requires a lot more effort and time up front. This can reap rewards if you end up issuing at least 2-4 revisions plus for planning and working drawings, particularly if you like decent renders etc and or need to be efficient /faster/ more accurate etc. We have become 40% more efficient in doing this over the long term. On a note of caution however the programme (and I think its the same for others ?) is not brilliant at real fine tune detailing which we still do in 2d over 3d models. Hope this helps!
  7. @Markvl Aha. hasn't happened for a while but just did. Took me a while to find your thread. This is by no means a scientific answer but having had a play around I discovered if I altered the thickness of the problem-roof the double miter returned! (Like it was waking up to the instruction...and needed a memory jog....) HtH

    Angled Stair

Apologies @BCD I didnt read your post properly!
  10. Reckon digital used Flat head green RT to get that finish. Smooth!
  11. Thanks Matt When I get time I will have a play with the studs, rgds David
  12. Although if you are going to use a screwdriver I'd recommend a flat head over a phillips for a smoother finish.
  13. Hi @Matt Panzer. I got lost in a vectorworks vortex initiated by @line-weight in a (separate) discussion about horizontal clip cubed sections and returned to this little issue. FYi the same problems occur if the walls are tile filled or are made of components. The lower image is a standard viewport top plan and the above is a clip cubed horizontal viewport. The internal wall detailing is randomly missing in some of the walls in the top image? I do hope this can be fixed in 2020. What is the bug number please?
  14. And just for fun, the beast (hardest model I ever had to do) and the beast's kitchen!
  15. @JMR Hello. I dont show clipped graphics in sketch or hidden line, but from recall i think these graphic modes are programmed to show the entire model. I have just repeated your operation and yes it is not showing the clip in sketch and hidden line. It will show the clip in Open GL. Is that correct @JimWModeratorTest
  16. @digitalcarbon true the more you show ....I shied away from such stuff (still do with walk throughs) because the more you show the more needs fixing/arguing about (isn't that what builders do?) Although to be fair to our VW programme the more effort I make to show the real thing the less re-iterations I have to do ( 2x in 3d visuals, 4x in 2d only) saving me days of time.
  17. Certainly viewports are the way the programme is headed and offer a range of continuing flexible advanced graphic options which can be tailored to your needs. The more you venture into 3d the more compelling the case becomes. Justaforexample the clip cube tool allows you to cut a 3d section into a live viewwport. You can retain the section line cut, reverse it, or change the position of the section line and the viewport will update instantly. I find live viewports in a 3d environment incredibly useful. So if heaven forbid a difficult client or an even more difficult planning officer demands a number of changes to a scheme at the last minute I am able to reconfigure the 3d model and see these changes updated automatically in my viewports, concentrating on the correctness of the changes and not having to pour over a number of different drawings hoping the changes have been reflected correctly in multiple 2d dwgs. I would advocate investigating this for your workflow and seeing the time-saving you can achieve . HtH
  18. Aaahhh all showing up now! It was turned off. Might be useful to let everyone know as I didn't...
