Hi, not 100% sure if this is the right forum for this, so Mods please move if needed...but.... Has anyone had trouble with Vectorworks 2019 (SP4) not successfully opening after an update to Windows 10 1903? We have had 3 machines in the office all upgrade fine and Vectorworks continues to work just fine. One person's laptop upgraded and Vectorworks now will close as soon as its finished loading and opening all the palettes. Any ideas?

Hi, have you done a rebuild of your computer? What are you running? Mac or PC? if windows, what version?

@jblock can you push this to OZCAD in Australia please? the service pack is not vet available to me.

I have this same problem! this is a big issue and needs to be fixed... very annoying as i can save my work now!

Hi, i'm interested to hear from users how they deal with cloud storage and what works best if two people happen to open the same drawing at the same time. what happens with onedrive? what happens with Dropbox? We are a 'office 365' company and we don't really use Dropbox org wide. we are just migrating to the cloud and moving all our file system to SharePoint and OneDrive for business. Do you need to check files in/out? that seems like a royal pain and its not supported in the file explorer with onedrive. you have to go online and that's not going to work. please share your tips and experiences for moving to a cloud storage solution! 🙂

From my understanding this has not been 'fixed' in 2019. There is no report from the developer saying the rendering process has changed. Given 2019 is out now, I would imagine they will not fix this problem in 2018. I would say this won't be fixed till 2020. VW 2019 still continues to be the most frustrating peice of software in existence. The developer has got the software to the stage that it is in a mess and they have backed themselves into a corner. It may never recover and become an amazing useful timesaving product. The market opportunity for a competitor is enormous, but making software like this is an even bigger task. VW 2020 needs to NOT introduce a single new feature, but rather fix ALL of the defects of the software.

@Selin and @zoomer , thanks for your responses. @Hayden Schraishuhn manages all our communique to our local VW support team/distributor being OZcad. we have sent files to them and this has been escalated to Nemetschek. Apparently the only current solution is a pop up to say CineRender has crashed and that you are basically 'f$&ked' and you need to restart the program. This insight and knowledge is just amazing and will make my time so much more productive......NOT! But in all seriousness I can understand why you need to get more insight into what causing this catastrophic failure of the program...i want you to fix this! 🙂 If it will help, what is the best way to get you the file @Selin privately?

@Selin please come to our office if you want to see this reproduced. i can reproduce it in any serious drawing multiple times a day. its really quite easy! in fact i can do it about 20-50 times a day 🙂

hi, why does the select similar tool not work on lighting devices? in particular when the only attribute i want it to match is the symbol name??? is there a quick way of selecting all lights of a particular type?

I don't post a lot... but i have been using VW for about 6-7 years now. our company owns 6 licenses too. we pay a lot of money for this software. to see this bug still roaming free and messing with peoples daily lives annoys the f%^k out of me. it frustrates the crap out of all my staff and causes much grief. its beyond a joke. you really need to sort this out. VW 2017 and 2018 are complete dogs of software. here are my steps to reproduce this on a daily level: click 'Update Viewport'.

ok cool. thanks for this. how do i then map an image on it to also show the correct quality of the image due to the low resolution? i thought the LED tool could do this but it doesn't have transparency i actually already have the Martin symbols, but you cant map content over these...

Hi, can we please add official support for the Microsoft Surface Dial? especially on the Surface Book 2 and Studio where you can place it on the screen to get more features and options?! Being able to use it as a symbol selection tool would be amazing! with it showing the symbols...

one thing that is annoying is it doesn't work with multi instance fixtures yet. This is a big problem for me with many Martin Stage Bars and Auras in stock. Hopefully this will be fixed soon! it is an awesome bit of plug-in and is very easy to use!
