  1. Sounds nice and useful. Pseudo Wall appears in calculations, Energos, BIM, .... But should also allow to be punctured by Windows and Doors. And if we're at it. If Windows and Doors could perforate every Volume like Extrudes or Generic Solids we wouldn't have any Problems because we could stack whole Walls vertically or in front of each other, or renounce of Walls at all when using Solids.
  2. So your Annotion Layer is a normal Design Layer ? You have 3D Design Layers and "2D" Design Layers for Text, Dimensions and Title Blocks. So you need your Section Viewports on a design Layer to draw over, on the Sheet Layers you have only a complete Viewport combining the 2D Model Output + Annotations. Again back to your titleblock. This is a standard VW Titleblock, thought in cm on a Sheet Layer, but put in a Symbol to scale to 1:1 ? The Problems with Symbols is that they can't really have any relative input as they are just a copy of the first Symbol instance, stored in the Symbol library and all copies are same. But that does work for a tile block with relative and automated input fields ?
  3. That sounds interesting. So no Annotations on Sheet Layers. All borders, title blocks, text, ... on Design Layers ? Is this completely 2D only or 3D and BIM ?
  4. Oh yes, 3rd Dimension makes it even more complicated.
  5. BTW I always tried to avoid columns and used Wall Tool. Which isn't ideal because the column walls will unwanted or not the way intended connect to walls of course. Pillars might be better.
  6. Well, Columns won't work either with buckets or wall constraints. So the Pillar is Wall End compatible for simple Walls, that isn't bad. Not the solution for Component Walls ?
  7. Maybe. Hope you have backuped your tedious settings from before the import. Reminds my to backup mine. I recently noticed that 3DCon has a own forum. Looks like editing the 3DCon settings profile in user/library is not recommended at all. Different Devices use completly different settings and drivers aren't compatible. Generally it does not seem to be easy to keep drivers over OSs and Updates. Maybe you shoot your settings file, have to uninstall first and reinstall from scratch.
  8. And it is in the way all the time. If you make it invisible by class/layer it will have no light. If you make it visible but non editable you will see it anyway and very likely overwrite that class/layer setting while working with these.
  9. Pillar. Will it be recognized as Wall when I flood Spaces or Slabs ?
  10. Less blurry than I initially thought. You have to play with blurry values according to Lighting and Environment. Probably also for the brighter color of the glass shader in reflection to dim reflections if necessary.
  11. OK, often full 2D workflow only. Even that is quite complex and I don't oversee it. But looks that working with DLVP's isn't much fun either. As I did not often work with construction documents and never had much fun with it in CAD, I'm quite 2D dummy. I work 3D only because I model for Visualization or any other 3D purpose like collision models. I do not create construction documents but of course some 2D representations for illustration and checking. So for me it is MUCH easier to create Sections and Floor Plans from my 3D model on Sheet Layers. They lay there and update (manually) with the model. But I have doubts if at all it is possible to bring that generated output to a level you expect from your 2D workflow, concerning CAD standards, visibility an such. If there is so much 2D rework over it you will lose the automatic updates to the model. And maybe it is much more complicated to overview where your 2D is lagging the model. And I still am not sure which 2D has to happen in DLs, like constrained things as dimensions, or what has to and can happen in VP annotations on Sheet Layers only.
  12. Is the Polygon shown in OIP before or after the conversion ? It looks that there are no extra/double vertices that can result in problems because of overlapping. Which often happens when using elements of imported site plans.
  13. Will Energos calculate correctly, if I have 2 separate Slab Objects against terrain for : Structural Slab with Insulation + Finish Floor package ?
  14. You mustn't do anything at Wall Edges as long as you want to connect them anytime later (Custom Wall Ends, Projections, Recesses, ...) In this case (selected) you can workaround by replacing the Projection as another broad Wall in an L or T connection. The left example will be a bit complicated if possible at all. Also I would see the middle projection as a column. And as columns in VW are not very usable for me I would also use the Wall Tool with a "Column Wall Style" and interrupt those 2 Walls in between.
  15. In Viewports I can live with b/w only or components off very well. But in 3D, realizing that by components in OIP/Render is not just an indicator but a dropdown option, may be very useful. Not really in the current case where I need to export separate Wall Shells in FBX and C4D and see my separate components. Here it would be very nice if I could arrange my texture grouts of my panels according to parts and building grids. BTW And yes, you have to be very concentrated after you edited a Wall Style.
  16. Ok, when looking at some of my VP with different Top Plan Views I also would like to use different sun angles. So I +1 too. Location as document setting, north direction maybe too. That's what will be default when you create a new Heliodon. And an option in VP setting to overwrite Helios time, date and north direction
  17. Had this too today for the first time. When selecting and updating all VP at one time, VW left 4 of them non updated and said something about low memory. But no RW included. Just Top Plan, OpenGL and HL. It worked for the next time though. But I remember that there were often one or more un-updated in the past.
  18. DLVP ? Not exactly what I expected. I thought as Sections they will auto-update. And if it is "flat" it is screen orientation only ? More successful with a 3D VP copying my hole building. Beside that the VP gets an arbitrary height ?
  19. Because you updated to 10.4 driver recently ? As it works fine here with MS Enterprise and CADMouse. Just little problems that it awakens the Mac Pro from time to time. Since I configured Apps differently.
  20. Oh, I thought 2D would be 2D no matter which plane it is displayed. That is never a problem in my threads, your welcome.
  21. Indeed, 2D references files in a 3D view will slow OpenGL down. So will the 2D acceleration in VW 2017 will make 2D lines look like OpenGl edges ? Or could there be a slider in VW prefs to increase monitor DPI (fake) setting to improve the look as long as the GPU can bear it ?
  22. Why do 2D drawing lines look so much higher in quality and better beside their activated "draw lines" of 3D objects ?
  23. Seems that VW 2016 ignores the VW preference : "Center on Objects after View Change" But the need for Viewport zooming between scaled SLs and 1:1 DLs seems to be solved by setting VW preference : "Separate Sheet Views" While 3DConnection Devices Movements will not work in 1:1 DLs until you heavily accelerate movement settings in driver.
