  1. Love Button for DGN import/export. I search some days ago about Open DGN again. Seems it died somehow from Bentley side. Or better everything put over to Teigha ???
  2. Freezes cursor for many seconds on My Mac Pro here. Graphic settings default to "Performance", Top Plan View, Empty blank File; BTW Honestly I'm still using 10.11.6 (not 10.12)
  3. Oooops, that was quite redundant, realized it is my own thread Maybe I thought I should spam another thread with my same proposal to give my wish more weight ...
  4. A yes, no hurry. Currently there are more important things to look at. I think I'm unavailable for the next 3 days from now on ...
  5. OK, I was a little irritated by the 2016 banner, but it looks like it downloads a newer release Does RW for change anything to the Select Service Contracts in the future of those who once bought it and had a higher fee ?
  6. I want to ask if there maybe is enough Space in the User Name Field to display the Country again. For me it was an important information, like knowing that people from New Zealand very likely have the Windoor Plugin and such things. If not, I would pack it into my signature.
  7. You can use a Nurbs Surface. Rectangle selected > Model > 3D Power Pack > Create Surface from Curves Set U + V Degree to 2 each, so you get as much Anchor Points along your edges as you have given Heights. Move these in Top Plan View to the Points of the given Heights. Like in a Polyline you can cycle through these knots and apply the given Heights. Now you can thicken your final surface by 3D Toolbox > Shell Solid by setting a Numerical Thickness Value. Just select that 1 (only) Face and confirm.
  8. Yes, currently the Move by Point Tool is kind of a 1D Soft Array Tool for me. But for sure one of the most used Tools. For Moving and Copying. Every time when Situations are more complicated and the Drag Tool is likely to fail.
  9. Yes I want my reputation leveled back to 17 - I like 17. The Feature requests with the arrows on the left side of course. The other could go wrong easily ... You shall not touch my Avatar.
  10. Thanks Art V, that is why I separated each feature in an own Post, so that people can up/down vote. I also want simpler Tools so I vote 2 separate Tools for Copy and Move. Currently I activate the Move by Points Tool and the first thing is to check if the Copy Option is really off and if the Multiplier is Move-ready. If I would get additional just that same Tool again, best reduced to Move-only Options, I had no more need to think or concentrate and be sure to Move only. The current Move by Points Tool could stay as it is. Just I personally would leave the Copy Option always activated. Other can still use it as they did the last years. BTW, did you know that you can with the Move by Points Tool - Copy Option deactivated (!) - still copy by using the ALT key
  11. This is regarding rendering performance only. Beside I like my silent, energy efficient Mac Pro and working with OS X.
  12. That is all well known. Plus some other issues like auto adding the old viewport crop setting and those things. It got worse with the last Service Pack when Cameras, like a saved view, contain Layer Visibilities, or at least preserve to make their own Layer the active Layer, while doing visibility changes seems to further corrupt the Cameras. I don't know why and how that could happen and stay for a whole software release. Let's cross fingers for VW 2017 release.
  13. Not really. You need a lot of cores with a fast clock speed to speed up rendering time. While Macbook Pro and iMac may be limited to their i7's with 4 Cores + Hyperthreading, the max. 12 Core Mac Pro is really expensive, 8 core may be the sweet spot Mac Pro. The current Mac Pro is 3 years old, outdated and therefore too expensive. If you think of these wait a few months if Apple will really upgrade these at a reasonable time, just let them die, by bringing something like an iMac Pro with desktop CPU+GPU or just force us to switch to Windows Machines soon. You can look for Render Speed Comparisons of different CPU's using C4D Cinebench like this : http://www.cbscores.com/index.php?sort=os So maxed out iMac at the time I ordered my Mac Pro, would have been faster than the 4 Core nMP. And my 6 Core nMP is not so much faster as you can see in the Benchmark link. It was at least 2 x as fast as my old 2007 Mac Pro 2.1 I had before
  14. Ok, so I produce some additional traffic here, beside pushing the love button, to support this thread.
  15. So maybe this will solve itself with the release of VW 2017 and its 2D View Speed improvements announced.
  16. While I don't really understand the release date being top secret. So if no one knows that or when a new VW is released, many people will go for holidays and maybe even won't notice release when coming back weeks later ....
  17. So all problems related to OpenGL Viewport Performance in 3D or 2D Top Plan View ? Or ist it Program Performance like opening and editing Window Tool Settings ?
  18. Speculation, not before 9/14. I rather think 9/15, because of that last older version upgrade action - before the 2017 release. Or up to 9/30 because the need to prepare presentations.
  19. If we look at the 3D App world, Modo hasn't even a Material Preview or Thumbnails ! Sounds strange but when working with Materials you are in a special Render Layout Workspace. And the fast and correct Preview (CPU only btw) just shows the whole Model (if you wish) More applicable in this case may be the C4D System with Material Previews. Like VW it has defaults to use most suitable Cubes, Spheres, ... to examine your Material. But these preview Examples are just normal 3D files. So there is much more variety like Cubes with rounded edges and it can be all kind of geometry, light setup and environment to better see even Transparency and Reflections. In case of using VRAY means that it will deliver preview setups that have a calibrated Environment with HDRI Backgrounds and full Global Illumination calculated by VRAY Renderer. These won't be that fast of course, but what you see is what you really get. Especially important for nowadays Physically Based Rendering, as things like the Image Textures used, usually don't represent the Material Values as it should be but already a kind of rendering according to its environment when they were created or photographed. A calibrated Preview will prevent too bright Materials with too less light absorption.
  20. In the past it was that when a "true" element snap point like a corner was near your desired direction, that snap point was prioritized. The result was that your, for example, line was not constrained or level at the end. As far as I see that works now for me. The other thing was that SHIFT Axis Lock lost its locking as soon as you left your path by some degrees. In current tests it will lock reliably until you exceed about 40 degrees. Which is much better. While I still think that locked means 100% locked - because the user showed that will by pressing SHIFT. Even if you want to lock to X-Axis but need to snap to an Element much more far in Y-Axis, so the resulting Angle from wanted Path is nearly up to 90 degrees, it should lock.
  21. Did someone already repair this ? And if, when ? It looks like it is working reliably when testing so far. That was not so in prior VW versions and I even think it was still not ok in earlier VW 2016's. Can someone confirm this ? If so that would be fantastic !!! This was one of my Top Annoyances in the past. And no need to create another wish list item.
  22. 7. I still prefer to have to separate Tools and Icons for Copy and Move Tool As for me it is much easier to do automated motoric actions in simple, restricted and reliable Tools than the need to concentrate on complex multi usage Tools and all the time change Options and Sub Modes. Maybe even as a hidden Option with the need to manually activate in Custom Workspace, to not disturb other users.
  23. 6. Dynamic Preview (Like Any Tools) The Copy Tool should have a dynamic Preview: And allow to dynamically play with Distances and Multipliers.
  24. 5. Cursor Direction Recognition : (Like Any Tools) the Copy Tool will automatically read the cursor direction given by the user and will use the Numeric Input as a Relative Distance in that special Direction and therefore needs No Negative Inputs. And also never again any DOUBLE ENTER's. If the cursor is moved in Y-direction, it is self understanding that the next Numeric Input will automatically be placed in the Y-Axis Input Field activated, never in an X or Z Input Field.
