  1. Hi All We are looking at migrating to Sharepoint to act as a cloud server (recommended by out IT provider) and i was wondering if anyone has done this successfully (or tried and failed). Before we progress, it would be really useful to understand from others their experience with Sharepoint and Vectorworks. I note that Sharepoint isn't officially listed as supported https://www.vectorworks.net/products/features/project-sharing. Our IT provider tells us that Onedrive and Sharepoint whilst similar and both part of the O365 subscription are not the same thing. The key question is whether anyone knows if Sharepoint will allow VW project and working files to operate without sync issues? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any replies.....
  2. Hi All, I have a client that wants to be able to read our drawing files so i have pointed then towards the free VW Viewer. He has said that this is great in principle but he wants to be able to do annotations / markups on top of the drawings and send them back to us. I'm not aware a of a way for them to do this at the moment?? Is this possible through the free viewer which i understand is unable to save changes.
  3. Thanks for the comment. I eventually got it back after a reinstall.
  4. Hi All- We are looking at migrating our live project files to Sharepoint to act as a server (recommended by out IT provider) and i was wondering if anyone could provide an update on the compatibility issues raised above?? He tells us that Onedrive and Sharepoit whilst similar are not the same thing. Does anyone know if Sharepoint will still allow VW project and working files to operate without sync issues? Any updates would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any replies..
  5. Thanks for the response. Oddly having checked the "all tools" section its not there either. Maybe time for a reinstall....
  6. Hi there, I am hoping someone can help. In the workspace editor in VW 2020 the Number stamp tool is no longer available in the legacy tools options as it was on the previous versions?? The number stamp was a simple but very effective time saving tool for numbering various objects such as highlighting constructions notes to reference back to a construction notes text block , image numbers when doing a photo graphic study report etc etc. I appreciate that this is replaced with more complex text tools data stamps and the like but especially in an office workflow that combines 2d and 3d projects this is a very useful tool. Has it simply been moved somewhere else (i can't find it if it has) ? Is there a way to go into the system files and drag and drop this back from an earlier version into the 2020 legacy items. Any help would be greatly appreciated. 2020 legacy items list.pdf
  7. The attached pdf shows the issue whereby the sill heights do not form part of the total structural opening height of the window. The behaviour is the same in the window settings, object info and most importantly in the reports & schedules that Vectorworks generates. The composition of the window set to timber makes no difference. Clearly however this is odd behavior as I would expect that structural height should include the sill for all timber, steel or aluminum windows. In-fact it should be the default for all sills unless they are masonry of stone. If we adjust the window height in the settings to counter this the schedules generated are incorrect, in effect making them pretty useless for a contractor to use. For a package that is very advanced in so many ways this is a huge issue when trying to use the package to generate reports. A simple tick box in the sill settings to allow the sill to be part of the height or not is all that is required. I have been told that we could edit the report to display structural height + sill. Whilst this seems to be a workround it will still show the structural opening height in the info box and window settings exclusive of the sill. If you could please look into this. I am looking for a way to resolve it. VW 2020 Window size excludes the sill[1].pdf
  8. The attached pdf shows that the sill heights do not seem to form part of the total height generated by the window, either in the window settings or in the reports & schedules that Vectorworks generates. In IFC format when exported to Solibri it does give the height inclusive of the sill. Clearly however this is odd behavior as the structural height should include the timber sill. If we reduce the window height in the settings to counter the addition of sill height the schedules generated are incorrect as they reduce the scheduled height accordingly. This in effect makes them useless. Is there a workround that allows the sill to be included in the Structural opening height. If not windows have to be drawn without sills.........For a package that is very advanced in so many ways this is a huge issue when trying to use the package to model accurately & generate reports.
