[Symbol within Symbol for Report Formats]

Basically I have a 3d symbol that has a bunch of smaller 3d symbols that make up the whole. Is there a way to generate a report using the name of the symbol? The option to include components of symbols doesn't come up

Is there a way to create a report for symbols that have symbols within them? i have multiples of the same part and parts that have minor changes in them that use some of the parts and pieces from other parts and I want to create a report that generates a report of the total pieces used. Is that possible?
