  1. i've sort of answered my own question - by eliminating the 'jamb' adn by making the trim deep (40 cm) and offsetting, i can get soemthing close to what i was looking for
  2. if i have a very deep jamb - say 40 cm, and have a double swing door, with each leaf 50cm, and i want the door to open into teh depth of the wall/jamb (40cm) how do i move the position of the door relative to the jamb? i keep getting the door and or window placed in center of the jamb...if i try and offset, i get the whole object offset in relation to the wall, not just the door leafs themselves
  3. i'm not able to scroll with MM in VW 12 - it seems to zoom in and out instead - any special settings without resorting to USB overdrive?
  4. ouch - one of the reasons i bought the mighty mouse was to gain sideways scrolling in vectorworks - hoep it comes soon
  5. we are all on mac - OS X with VW version 10 - on both macs japanese text is installed on my mac all programs except VW reads japanese fonts
  6. I am working in VW english version, following a project in Japan- My team in Japan sends me their drawings with japanese text, which opens in my english version in a uncomprehenible language. Any tips on how to keep it in japanese? thanks
  7. I have a a few questions: 1) question regarding the speed of panther with Vectorworks.....will it be a faster running combination? We have OS 10.2.6 at the moment and with VW 10 many functions are slow slow slow. 2) question regardign updates - We have tried to upgrade to 10.1, 10.2, etc and have nothing but problems problems problems. So we have to revert to 10.0 Will it be possible to update to 10.5.1 directly from 10.0 without going through the other updates? thanks
  8. a question concerning renderworks.......we are running VW 9.5 in system OSX and we are considering renderworks 9.5.......do we have to go back and do an install of RW 9, then RW9.1 then update to RW9.5? that seems like a very convoluted process...........
  9. I tried in vain all weekend to download the 135.7 MB file for version 9.5. I used two different download managers and have had the same result (a message saying that my installer file may be corrupt and cannont compelt the installation). Since in Europe we pay by the minute and not a single hookup charge (thse downloads costed me dearly) I am goign to give up. One question though, as I already have installed the beta 9.5b07, are the advantages of the real version so big that I shoudl aquire a copy, or is my beta version 7 almost the same.....? thanks Tim Power
  10. go into the preferences, to Vectorworks preferences, to session and uncheck the use sound box
  11. I don't know autocad, nor do i ever expect too, but Form Z has pull out menus that dock back into place..this is a nice feature.
  12. that is a real shame; as all of those little paletes of yours would go so nicely onto the dock.................wish wish wish
  13. by the way, the OS does not freeze, this is one of the great things about OSX. I just restart the program and it opens pretty quick. TP
  14. I am on mac, OS X, G4 using VW 9.5b The program just closes without any message,,,,,,crash and burn. The file is not large, but it is big. Let me explain.there are pieces of the drawing that go off of the document page....pieces all over the place that have been pulled off of the print area and put off to the side. So what happens when selecting the multiple zoom out , or fit to page, is that the jump may be too big. i don' know. TP
  15. I get crashes whiel doing a multiple Zoom Out, or by doing a fit all to page (forced Zoom). This is not on every file, only on some. TP
  16. if you single click the VW program 9.5 and select information, make sure you put a check in the box which allows you to run 9.5 using the classic (9.2) system. TP
  17. While using the 9.5b07 i have had some bombs on big documents (20mb).........;documents with lots of jpg imports don't seem to be stable. The program crashes, but the system doesn't....this at least is an improvement thanks to APPLE. TP
  18. Did you try and install off of the OSX sstem, or did you install after doing a OS 9.2 startup? I installed all of of OSX and got things up and running (i got a CD finally of 9.0.1). So far 9.5 looks good, but I haven't worked on it for complex projects...try and get rid of all of your preferences and reinstall off of OSX. TP
  19. somewhere else in this discussion board i remember seeing a post re: problems installing 9,5 when there are seperate partitions for the different OSs. I will look around, but if i don' find it look under general discussions from about a week or two ago.I think it is there. TP
  20. you have to have 9.0.1 installed to dothe upgrade..I can't fidn the upgrade in Italy yet but you have to do this step first....... Tim Power
