  1. Cannot remember how I did this now. Here is a file with that TB in it, feel free to have a poke around.... Title block.vwx
  2. "I just want to put a Key on my plot.." Of course but Vectorworks cannot guess how you want it to appear or how you want to filter it? "I don't want to edit or troubleshoot Vectorworks software anymore." I don't think anyone is asking you to do that. If you don't know how something works, just ask, we are all here to help. I don't know the ins and outs of the instrument summary tool, Personally I use the graphic legend tool to filter by class, it even filters by viewport. So this is possible In Graphic Legends, I am sorry that you don't know how to achieve this in the software, I am sure a brief call with us would get you up and running in no time. If you invest some time in learning these new tools you will really reap the benefits. "This key was a brand new one a mere minutes old, and when I edited it the program crashed." Ok so clearly there is a problem with your installation, the forum is not tech support, please reach out to them, the users on this forum cannot help you troubleshoot your installation. Tech support can then re-direct you to the training team who get you set up.
  3. You can apply filters, I will let Scott explain those. "Oh well. Vendor is not a parameter in Lighting Device-Parameters." If you want to you could easily add this parameter to the Lighting Devices if you so wished? "trying to edit a key I dropped on the plot." - Was this a key created with an earlier version of the software? Best to create a new one and save as symbol.
  4. I think focus information will go in the 'ESC' format. If you export lights with focus info as .ESC and the rest of the model as .MVR.
  5. @Wesley Burrows I wonder if you need two data visualisations with the same colours but one for light info record and one for lighting devices in schematic.
  6. You will only be able to copy/paste into fields that are displaying Record.Field data. @Pat Stanford is correct. We have discussed the possibility of allowing users to edit this data from a worksheet, the functionality isn't there at present and whilst a powerful idea it may cause some unintended consequences. I have an existing enhancement request for this.
  7. Did you add the containers to the legend in the 2d layout? Or did you check the container option in the create label legend dialogue in the Spotlight label legend manager?
  8. Have you come across ConnectCAD? It's more suited towards AV workflows. You can create a signal flow diagram of your speakers and associate circuits with drawn cables on the audio speaker layer. The cable tools are really geared to power and mains distribution (for now at least).
  9. Hi Christiano, Have you tried contacting tech support? They should be able to jump on a call with you. The settings in your screenshot look correct. Try the reset plugins command in the Tools Utilities menu.
  10. The closest you get to selection order is specifying the direction 'manual'.
  11. This would definitely be an MA question. Other software companies support MVR merge but as for MA's implementation of this workflow you will have to ask them.
  12. I am not sure what has happened to your file. Its possible someone has edited the default parameters in the Spotlight Settings, Did you start from a template file? I wouldn’t worry too much, if it happens again in a new blank file then let us know.
  13. Fix.vwxStill not sure what the problem is. The Universe/Address parameter in Spotlight Settings 'Default' Value had some spaces in it. A refresh Instruments corrected the issue. If this happens again, contact tech support.
  14. Pretty sure this is possible but has a unique workflow. @Scott C. Parker Didn't you have a video for this?
  15. Also, Vectorworks won't always default to the correct graphics card, so also check that graphics switching is using the dedicated card. If this is still an issue contact tech support directly so we can start a case.
  16. criteria should be 'object type truss' and check inside plug in objects and inside symbols. as for the system name we still have the same issue @jgulbrandsen mentions above. If you used geometry instead of symbol you could assign a different system name to each truss inside each hanging position. This workflow may be easier without using hanging positions and using either truss system or position name on the truss objects. We are continuing to develop this workflow as a priority.
  17. Possibly, I always 'use geometry'. instead of making a symbol so might explain why I had not seen this.
  18. This could be an origin issue, Would be good to double check.
  19. Thanks Johnathan. I was referring to Erik @Sam Jones Move by points was the only 'tool' I could think of.
