  1. Thanks for clarifying Art! I should have been more thorough and tested gradients without assuming that they would not greyscale.. They aren't something I use much. Solid colours are the big one in particular and should follow suite in their ability to be greyscaled whether it's a publish option or built-in.
  2. There should be a checkbox to check when publishing in black & white to allow fills and gradients to become greyscaled when publishing sheets. Currently, I have to use the "dot" pattern to achieve different shades in something like a wall fill when publishing in black & white or use a grey fill and change all classes to be black when exporting in colour. This should have to be a work-around..
  3. The room size (length by width) is split up by an X and should be a multiplication sign, (×). Just as stacked fractions should be implemented throughout the program, an asterisk or X written between two measurements should change and default to be a multiplication sign (×) such as 12'-0"×2 5/8". Currently typing alt+0215 on a Window machine and going to the character pallet on a Mac is inconvenient.
  4. I have always thought this, but figured it was beyond possible. In the meantime, I create symbols of only the interior furnishings for moving around, and leave walls to be drawn each time. Multi unit apartments, condo's and townhouses are a huge percentage of work produced by architectural offices these day.. a hybrid object would only make sense!
  5. Same issue here..randomly switching over to layer plane when I need to keep text objects in screen plane. The ability to set a class to conform to a particular plane would be nice. Half the time I'm copying text around I find it has switched to become layer plane and becomes mirrored after flipping a plan. I then need to use the select similar tool to select all the text and change the plane, in object info, to screen plan to prevent the text from printing mirrored/as a 3D object.
  6. The ability to link/match specific selected text, from around a drawing, to text in a cell of a worksheet would be a huge time saver and would eliminate manual update errors. For example: you could select text in a text object, showing the square footage of a floor, right click to set up a link to a certain worksheet cell. Changes to the linked text, would automatically adjust the worksheet/cell text from then on. While editing a worksheet, a cell with an established link could display with a highlighted "link graphic", that once clicked, could take you to the links layer and show the linked text, also highlighted with a "link graphic". This would also be useful for dimensions/heights, but I can see units as an issue in this case.
  7. Thinking into it more, it may be better implemented as a per object check box to allow for some flexibility. This would also have to be an option that is only implemented when a unit such as ' or " appears directly after the fraction. The check box in the text, leader line, callout, etc. Object Info could read: "Fractional Display for Written Measurements" and show the three styles that are in the unit display for dimensions. I appreciate the quick follow-up Jim
  8. I know that this has implemented with the dimension tool and can be done manually in text blocks using the OS's character pallet, but it would be nice if any written fraction measurement, such as in a text block or leader, would appear as a stacked fraction like the dimension option allows. Even the ability to automatically replace a fraction measurement written like, 5/8", with the appropriate system font symbol for the fraction. This could be established with a switch in the document settings.. This has also been a feature in AutoCad, called "Stack Fractions" for years and keeps the display of text with measurements neat and proper.
  9. I have also found this to be a problem, but only with VW 2014 SP3. It seems like the constrained angle tracks from the selected point rather than the axis. This shouldn't be the case, as dragging a point of any line depends on the axis for reference, not the point you are currently moving.
  10. Updating to SP3 in v.2014 caused lines and angles to behave differently or introduced a bug. The difference I'm seeing is that 2D lines and leader lines no longer snap to smart cursor angles around the axis when dragging the endpoint. Instead they don't snap and a smart cursor angle is given around the point I'm dragging. This seems like a step backwards in usability if it's intentional. Has anyone else noticed this?
