Thanks Jim, Thought it might be on a wish list as it seem such an obvious thing hence my restrained comment on clip cube. Look forward to it. Out of interest how & where do wishes get logged. i.e can anyone on this forum submit one and view the list? in case you haven't it worked it out I'm new to the forum so a little bit green behind the ears. Thanks tried that...and in theory that should would work ...in any other software but for some unknown reason you cannot view the model in hidden and clip cube mode. Unless there is a button somewhere that i missed GK

Hi, If someone could clarify something for me. I have seen one topic re:Section VP, line, and visibility control but just wanted a to ask.. When VW defines a live section it means that the section will update once the Plan has been updated correct? There is no way of accessing the section in the viewport picking an object i.e a beam and moving it up, or down etc. or even picking an object in order to identify its class. Any wall textures hatches bespoke patterns etc need to be done in the annotations for them to be viewport specific? If anyone could shed some light that would be great. Thanks GK

Hello, Is there a way to control the cut plane of a layer? I have an upside down 'L' shaped wall in elevation (strictly speaking its a greek Gamma shaped wall) . Wondered if there was a way to make the leg that is above and over not appear or even better appear as dotted (although i suspect the latter is to much to ask for) Any help suggestions would be helpful. Yes, thanks its now visible are those the visibility settings to have? ...also am I right in thinking that if I have Lv0 and Lv1 (3200 fl-fl) there is no way of putting the stair on any layer I want and it will automatically set it to Lv0?

Having some visibility issues with the custom stair tool. So I have inserted a Custom Stair in a model built with storeys. Have set the layer elevations based on storey levels in the model (have also created a new file with just two storeys) Have pressed all the buttons that give me the visibility that I like in plan, i.e dotted line above/dotted line below, handrail etc etc. looks fine in plan but does not appear in any other view, iso, elevation, 'live' (a question for another post) Section. Frustrated as have spent most of day figuring out the stair tool only for my stair to not appear in any other view. Any help will be greatly appreciated. PS all layers and classes are on, think those setting are sorted. VW14 Mac.

...Actually it seems that it doesn't matter which way it's used, it still doesn't work. It either leaves a small nib at the intersection of two walls or decides to delete entire wall. Am I missing something? GK

Hi, Trying to use the wall recess tool under the AEC tab efficiently ... my question is is there an option of creating a wall recess (i.e to create a skirting board run) along a string of walls (and types) without having to create a number of extrudes and having to go through the process a number of times? Hi, Hopefully a simple question with a simple answer. I have tried to use the sketch rendering mode for my model (axo 3d view) but it only seems to be able to display it in sketchy mode but wireframe as well. I have seen a few sketch views with hidden line so just wondered if I need to have Renderworks as well Currently using VW14 on mac. Any help would be appreciated GK
