  1. I have just completed a drawing with 7 viewports all updated and then exported to a PDF When i close the drawing and then re-open all it shows all the viewports need updating. is this correct or do i need to do something else to the drawing before i close the file?
  2. strange tried it and the first one showed up on the plan in the viewport but after that i cant seem to get the other 6 sections to show up on the main viewport plan

  4. morning i am creation section viewports from my main plan model, when i go to the viewport it shows the marker i have created but does not show on the plan which is also a viewport basically section AA do i have to manually add this section AA on the plan in the viewport annotations or am i missing something? many thanks

I have been using keynotes but in the main body copy I cannot get the text to justify left I know there must be a setting but I can't seem to make it work also when exporting to PDF I get a box in front of some of the lines I guess this is something to do with a tab but this does not show in the vectorworks file only the exported PDF ......oh the export is from a viewport ..... Many thanks
  9. hi you may need to take it into photoshop and do the edge fades after the rendering..... in that program i would feather the edges to give you that effect

Hi Ben I use artlantis exports easily from vectorworks and updates every time you change the vw model if you would like to see the quality of the visuals let me know and I can send some over for you to have a look at ....... I have had a look at cinema 4d but it's a steep learning kerb the other thing with artlantis it updates in real time so for intance if you add a light to the model you can actually see the difference as you increase the slider in fact I have just bought another licence so I can render on both of my computers

  13. hi jim just gone back to try v14 with the problem of the undo history.....with the update service pack started a new project and although worked for a while has come up with the same fault as before (no undo history) and i think this has started since i started to do subtract solids and with the fillet tool.....tried a restart work for about 10 undos and then fails.....
  14. when i change text on my drawings i double click on the text to edit, which is fine but i have to zoom into the area to see that the text is correct. is there a text box that can appear on screen where you can see the text that you want to edit so i don't have to zoom in....on the drawing
  15. this is a strange one fort the imports of a.3ds file it will bring the materials in from a sketchup model the only thing as you are probable aware that one the sketchup file is open its only a matter of exporting to .3ds yep i know its a pain but only takes a minute or so, it seems to work ok from sketchup for a 3ds but i purchased a model a 3ds of a vase of tulips 30 dollars great model but when i bring this in and render theres no materials and better still the tulips are not even in the glass vase i have posted the import file form vectorworks and what its supposed to look like after i took the same file into artlantis....i give up, i know this subject has been discussed many times on the forum but maybe vectorworks just can't bring this in from a stand alone .3ds the work i do means i have to import 3ds files for my renders that why i model in vectorworks and render in artlantis, if i could import i would just use renderworks interesting subject but with no happy conclusion

  17. hi did anyone have an answer to the renderworks texture export does it have to be an imported image from a file to allow the texture to be exported as a .3ds file cheers

  19. hi mike i notice your shell solid went all the way through the model when i do it say to 10mm I'm left with 10mm solid at one end of the object do you have to trim that section away to give you a clear hole all the way ?
  20. I did mean the service pack update to v14!
  21. I posted this problem a while ago when I did the update to v14 it seemed for a while to be ok but it's started to happen again so reverted to using v13 as this is such an important feature..... When I close the program and restart it's ok for a while but then fails with the same error message what James gets on his screen
  22. yes...... i have attached a jpg as a texture and it does export as i thought is there no way to export the renderworks texture just as a texture without a image attachment....as you can see from the render just materials
  23. i think i know the problem i have made the textures from vector works using a shader and not an image based png texture so there is nothing to export just the material.....i think that the way it works !
