i wondered that to i think you can do it in photoshop or in vectorworks spotlight

there was a nice free plug in that turns all screen objects to layer plane it was on a site called vectorcad or something like that......someone will know on the forum

i think its just like a pen thickness to the artisitic edge....... Millimeter [mm]Pixel (X) 0.01 mm0.0377952756 pixel (X) 0.1 mm0.3779527559 pixel (X) 1 mm3.7795275591 pixel (X) 2 mm7.5590551181 pixel (X) so try it with say 7.5 pixels it should give you an edge thickness of 2mm

this is a very simple way of doing this and its the way i find to be quite easy the experts on the site will have many many more ways that they create the drawings but at least its a start for you to consider viewports from a 3d plan.pdf

sorry laura meant to add create the viewport from the design layer or layers that you have created the model on....i usually set my dpi on the sheet layer to 300 the one thing that is a bit tricky if once you have all your viewports on the sheet layer if you add any additional classes to the model you need to update the viewports visibilities otherwise when you update the viewports the additional classes will not be added.....caught me out when i was learning the process

The best start is to make a viewport plan view this can be rendered in various ways I generally use hidden line with a dashed Hidden-line background and place it on a sheet layer at a scale to suit your project and print set up. Once you have this on the viewport you can then create elevations and sections using the plan view. May seem a bit daunting to start with but you will soon get the hang of it. Loads of videos on YouTube. Just type in creating viewports in vectorworks. It’s great fun and so easy once you get the basics. Hope this helps.

sorry the symbol had a 2d component deleted it and it works in plan view phew i thought i was having a senior moment

On your layer go to page or print set up. I’m not in front of my screen the size of 20m should easily fit on a2 at 1:50 scale.

I think you need to go to page set up. Not document set up.

anyone can help....inserting a ceiling grid no problem into a room....but can't seem to manipulate the tiles to start in a different origin in the video it looks easy thanks

are the classes turned on for that particular viewport .....

what version of vw are you using.....i think in one of the posts 2d will not render in a viewport unless its in wireframe unless you have 2019 and above but i may be wrong

You could make a custom palette.....there's a video that shows the process you could use that and change the colours as you like

the reason i asked is that i think you could specify a colour in the fill class so that it applys to all of the elements within that class
