  1. I just read today about such a translator that does just this... however VW was not one of the translated programs. I read about it at a site I subscribe to called the AEC Cafe.

Can't remember the mfgr or website but it is a new application. email me privately at upj1@aol.com and I will see if I can dig up info.

  2. What you are looking for is the turning radius for an SU30 (garbage type truck) try the refuse collection services on the web or manufactures of this type of truck. Years ago I had a full set of templates which, I believe, came from a traffic engineer.

  3. When you set up your layer scale uncheck the

"scale text" checkbox. All your dimensions will then have the default text size regardless of layer scale. If you want all your dimensions a certain size, with nothing selected set the default text size that you want before placing any dimensions, this will remain the default until you change it.

  4. For what its worth I fixed this one myself - went to the nemetschek web site - third party add-ons and downloaded the 2D window plug-in the added this button to the aec objects pallet. Works like a charm. Thanks to NNA for providing access to such free resources.

  5. Made a simple building elevation drawing, went to insert some 2D window elevations and no matter what I selected (resource or object browser) all that came over was "plan views".

I just used this same procedure last week to place windows in another project. What happened. VW 8.5.1 & Architect, G3, 9.1, 384MB.

  6. Some things I would like to see sometime in the near future for Architect 9:

    1. Standard hollow metal door frame PIO with editable throat & face parameters.

    2. Standard bar joist tool, similar to structural steel shapes. (MacDraft library has this)

    3. Complex line tool for drawing metal decking profiles and similar.(PowerCadd WildTools has this)

    4. Complex line type for things like san. storm, gas, water lines, etc.(also WildTools & Julian Carr)

Although VW & VWA are great some of the slant is on residential type work, I would like more emphasis placed on commercial project types.

  7. I recently upgraded to Mac 9.04 and have noticed the following:

    1. sometimes the line tool can't be selected, it sometimes takes 3 or more "click-ons" before it will operate.

    2. the trim tool used to keep trimming, now it falls out after one use.

Any thoughts out there G3/266/384MB/VW 8.5

  8. I have noticed that my paste-in-place does not seem to work as it did in MC7, especially if pasting from another file. When I, for instance paste a title border from one file to another (same scale, layer, etc.)VW pastes the border in left field and it is not visible unless "zoom to objects" is selected.

A straight "paste" works fine. Can anyone comment?

  9. Mike,

In my case I'm trying to paste in place my sheet border and title box. My master sheet is set by the printable area of the plotter and I copy and paste from "sheet" view to a similar file in sheet view with the same printable area set. This always worked in MC7 now...not. A straight "paste" works but I have to manualy adjust the border position.

Paste-in-place places the border off the printable area (outline rectangle). Both files have the same orgin.

  10. This may have be already covered but is there a way to change the default hatch for the wall types - as an example the cmu hatch for the brick/cmu wall type is much too dense, can this be edited, if so, how?

    Thanks
