  1. I have been using Microspot's MacPlot Pro with MC7 and VW driving HP330... not a single problem and great output. Unless you go in for a postscript RIP I think MacPlot is the ONLY alternative currently available. HTH, Fred
  2. I recently upgraded to Mac 9.04 and have noticed the following: 1. sometimes the line tool can't be selected, it sometimes takes 3 or more "click-ons" before it will operate. 2. the trim tool used to keep trimming, now it falls out after one use. Any thoughts out there G3/266/384MB/VW 8.5
  3. After using VA Set-up I want to insert my own custom sheet/title box on the sheet common layer so that it occurs on all drawings. I would enter the sheet info manually. Is this a doable process?
  4. I have noticed that my paste-in-place does not seem to work as it did in MC7, especially if pasting from another file. When I, for instance paste a title border from one file to another (same scale, layer, etc.)VW pastes the border in left field and it is not visible unless "zoom to objects" is selected. A straight "paste" works fine. Can anyone comment? fjjRA
  5. I have used a "curve line by 3 points" and arrow end from the atributes pallet for this. I works but I think VWA has a curved leader. fjjRA
  6. Mike, In my case I'm trying to paste in place my sheet border and title box. My master sheet is set by the printable area of the plotter and I copy and paste from "sheet" view to a similar file in sheet view with the same printable area set. This always worked in MC7 now...not. A straight "paste" works but I have to manualy adjust the border position. Paste-in-place places the border off the printable area (outline rectangle). Both files have the same orgin.
  7. Funny, I was just thinking about this last night, thanks Janis fjjRA
  8. I thought that this was fixed in VW 8.5, someone correct me if I'm wrong. fjjRA
  9. Yes!!! The escape key to stop the current operation is LONG overdue! fjjRA
  10. I would like to see a plug-in for a generic steel buck, with some kind of method for editing the throat dimension. I'd also like a generic alum. window plug-in.
  11. I like the idea of a printing fence or window similar to acad, this should be in ver 9 fjjRA
  12. This may have be already covered but is there a way to change the default hatch for the wall types - as an example the cmu hatch for the brick/cmu wall type is much too dense, can this be edited, if so, how? Thanks
  13. What is "splash j"... however I agree with fillet to "0" per sutocad. fjjRA
  14. I called customer service 3 wks ago to request the 1.01 upgrade be sent to me...they said it would be... I'm still waiting... fjjRA
  15. I was having having the same problem then realized the bubble was being inserted on a layer set to "overlay" or transparent. When I changed the layer appearance to "paint" bubbles displayed correctly. HTH, fjjRA
  16. Brian, If this patch is downloable only exactly how do I do this: I access the web, etc.. from a PC but VW&VWA are on my Mac--a totally separate machine. Can you give me detailed instructions how. Thanks, fred
  17. I understand that the VA 1.01 upgrade will be available shortly... will this be available on a CD instead of/with on-line patch. My vote is for the CD and readme file. Some sort of "bug fix/feature listing in advance of release would be helpful. fjjRA
  18. Are we talking about the title block created with VA assistant? When I tried this the font was so large it overwrote other sections of the block. Is it really as simple as selecting it, edit symbol and changing the font & size? Somehow I did not understand or get this from the manual...please give more specific instructions (for the slow of mind)
  19. Kevin, I think here the issue is not "scalability"; the electrical symbols adjust themselves to suit the layer scale--no problem there. It just seem that, what I will call the "base symbol drawing", is way off. If we normally draw our floor (electrical)plans at say 1/4" = 1'-0" scale, these symbols should have a professional appearance at this scale, which is retained at larger or smaller layer scale.
  20. How about it Robert, can something be done about these oversized electrical symbols, the whole library needs to be rescaled?
  21. Is it just me or are the electrical symbols just too big? I had the same problem with the electrical library in MC7, which I resolved by creating my electrial layouts on a layer scaled 1/2 the floor plan layer. The appearance was much better and more professional looking. Has anyone elese noticed this? fjjRA
  22. Now you're talking SERIOUS productivity! fjjRA
  23. Thanks, I feel sort of stupid for asking. fjjRA
