Hi I'm trying to create a custom lighting instrument for the ETC Source 4 Fresnel CE I'm happy creating the geometry/locus' and converting to a lighting device. I've attached the relevant records in the correct place but i cannot edit any record fields, they just appear grey and no matter how many times i click, double click, cmd click, ctrl click or just mash my fist into the keyboard i cannot edit them. I'm sure it wasn't this hard last time i did it! VW 2015 MacOSX 10.10.2

just a suggestion for a workflow improvement to the Tape Measure tool. It would be great if the L or TL values could be sent to the clipboard to be used in the OIP. It would save a lot of desk blotter paper!

Thanks Andrew That's what I've been doing. Maybe the object info browser could show a ratio calculated form the measurements? Mike

Just picked up, after a few embarrassing rigs, that the 10' wide 16:9 aperture screen in the projection objects is 5'9" x 10'. This is not a 16:9 ratio, my understanding is that the correct height for 10' width is 1715mm (5'7.5") I've not been through the rest of the screen sizes to check their ratios

Thanks Jim Yosemite's implementation of full screen is clumsy at best, especially for those using multiple monitors

Hi If i have 'draw beam' switched on in an instrument (currently ETC Sc4 14 degree) and try to apply a change to the shutter positions whilst in a 2D wireframe view I get an instant crash. Any ideas on this? (VW 2015, Yosemite)

solved, it's the change from 'maximise' to full screen on the green button. Quite annoying given my preferred workspace layout but guess I'll get over it

I've had no choice but to upgrade to Yosemite now and despite having to remove 16Gb of non apple RAM (thanks Apple) is running smoothly apart from from VW 2015 always seems to create it's own space, with a black desktop. There seems to be no way to control this behaviour. Anyone else had this?

Hi Jim Just checked the pdf and it is 0 bytes annoyingly the problem is intermittent. I will email all to vectorworks

When exporting PDF from VW 2015 sheet layers I get a message from Adobe Acrobat Pro telling me the file is corrupted (see attachment) If I export the VWX file to 2014 I do not have the same problem I have tried opening the PDF on another (windows) machine and get the same error

I've just updated to 2014 form 2013 and have a rather annoying niggle i need to try and get round. A lot of my custom symbols are archived in VW 2013 files, when i try to open the files in Resource Browser i get the message 'The following files were saved using an older version of Vectorworks and therefore could not be added to the list of favourites' Is there a way to stop this or am i going to have to create a new version of every file in my library? Thanks

ok, so going by your first post, I added environmental lighting from a renderworks background which seems to have done the trick thanks

Hi Michael Thanks for your reply The lights are in a Lighting-Fixtures class and the Focus points in Lighting-Focus points If I move the up lights to a new 'test' class, hide the focus points class and re-render with the 'test' class visible i get the same effect. Turning up the ambient just bleaches out everything.

VW2013, all up to date as far as i can see When i add a certain class to my render it makes the scene dark and most of the 3d shadowing from ambient light disappears . Is there a setting within the layer that would cause this? Pictures attached, the only difference is i have hidden the 'lighting-focus points' class thanks, i'm a bit new to this!
