DWorks....the standard workspaces are incredibly illogically organized in my opinion. I have been using VW for a very long time and require a custom workspace. The fact that Nem. offers this, why would they do so and why would I choose not to utilize this feature? Thanks for the response but you have shared a response that is an assumption and not a solution. I edited an existing workspace. Yes, the machine is 4GB and it seems to be working just fine. The Mac distributes memory usage in a manner quite differently than a PC.

I just started using VW 2013 DEMO on a new iMac (OSX 10.8) and I created a new workspace. Since that time, I cannot further edit this workspace. Firstly, upon selecting EDIT, I am told that I have no access and to check the file and directory permissions. I have done this to no avail. Secondly, if I attempt to create a COPY of the custom workspace, I am told that the file is either invalid or I do not have enough memory. The palettes are not accessible, so maybe the file is invalid. I spent a great deal of time on this and prefer not to have to do it again. VW 2013 has many of the same problems as previous versions.... I find the lack of attention to the GUI is a distinctly overlooked tendency of this perpetually 'almost' great software. Been using VW for two decades so I am clearly devoted. The machine has 4MB of RAM.

Michael, importing the file you sent creates a line item in the DIM Standards that matches the import, BUT, selecting the DIM standard does not set a new default. The same is true for pre-selecting a font size or creating a CUSTOM font style using FORMAT TEXT. All I am seeking here is to have the default text size to be what I want am wondering why this has changed. A range of key commands are gone as well including COMMAND~L for Rotate 90 degrees. Makes no sense to me to establish a standard and then take it away. Today I declare that all letter A's are to be pronounced Bee!??

Sorry to have left that out... OSX 10.8 4Mb RAM VW demo 2013. I was wondering if it is a limitation of the demo. It also gave a message that there was not enough memory. I did create the Workspace I am using by creating a copy of the default. JG

Michael, again thanks.... What is the source of the file you sent? I wish to be able to recreate the solution. Why 48 pt size? I will try it and report. Membership has been tossed many times. I've been using VW since it was Minicad though not too much for the past 4 years. First seeing the new modeling engine with this DEMO. Any idea why a workspace, that I just created, is now saying it cannot be edited? Claims I must check the sharing preferences in the directory as well the file. Changing the file made no difference. Why the security. It's merely a workspace... John

Michaekk, thanks for the info. The dim standard customizes spacing and format only, I discovered, and not font style or size. Am I missing something? FYI, for the 4th or 5th time over the years, VW tossed my membership info... I find them slightly more annoying than they are remarkable. A true love/hate from my perspective.

Must a script be created rather than a standard setting? Given all of the 'large' improvements, there are just so many little details that have been overlooked. There is still no search capacity in the WORKGROUP edit/creation Window to name one example...

Where in VW 2013 can the standard dimension text size be set?
