I got the link from Vectorworks to his site and it says that it is a Vectorworks landscape bundle. One would assume that it would work properly, no? The whole thing is very frustrating. I feel as if I have wasted a good deal of money. Overall I am pretty disappointed with the plant symbols that come with VW Landmark and I don't think I will go the third part route again because I simply can't afford to make any more costly mistakes. I'm using the 2012 version of VW. I don't suppose the '13 or '14 versions add more plant symbols do they? Thank you for trying to help!

Hi there. I'm the customer attempting to use these plant drawings without success. I've been too busy with personal issues to address it before now but I never did get any resolution on this. The problem is that when the I use the "Landmark create new plant" option the "painted" portion of the plant symbol doesn't register with the outline if that makes sense. So the outline becomes a plant symbol but the detailed drawing part of it (which registers as an image in the attributes palette) doesn't change with the outline. So if I were to modify the plant to have a spread of 10 feet the detailed image of the symbol stays a small blog in the center of the outline. Is there nothing that I can do to fix this or is this something that was done incorrectly when franklin developed the symbols? I have to say it is very frustrating as I spent $250 on these symbols. I got the link to his site from the Vectorworks Add Ons page so I expected I was buying something that I could easily use.

Thanks for your answer. Is there a way for me to make a report that isn't a database and is just a simple report that I can modify without changing any of my design? For example. I would like to create a sheet layer that just has trees in an orchard listed and not all the plants in the herb garden and perennial garden. Easy enough to do with the plant tags. I just created a separate tag class for my fruit trees. It doesn't seem to be possible to only create a plant list that includes trees though. This seems a bit absurd.

I'd like to delete a few rows from my planting list but for some reason every time I select a row and choose the "delete row" option it just deletes everything. What am I missing here? Surely this is possible. Deleting columns works perfectly fine. Rows not so much.

I have designed a garden that is on a property that is about an acre with several different planting areas. An herb garden, a perennial garden, cutting garden and orchard. There are over 50 species of plants in the entire design and some of them are repeated groups in different areas so that creates even more labels. Just labeling them all in the way that Tamsin describes in the Residential Garden Design book creates a not very easy to read plan with lines all over the place. I was hoping that with viewports I would be able to just cut out each garden area and then go in and place labels on a blank page but unless I am missing something viewports are basically just copies on different sheets that you can not interact with on that level. Any suggestions? What do you feel the best way to create a labeled presentation that is useable and attractive? Thanks!

Nevermind. I just realized that the classes navigation panel somehow got changed to only "show/snap others" instead of "show/snap/modify others". I have no idea how that happened and feel like an idiot now. What a relief.

I'm fairly new to Vectorworks and am suddenly having a problem that I can't solve. Running VW Landmark and am almost finished with a fairly complex design and suddenly I can't interact with most of the objects on the screen. It is as if most of my design suddenly became a PDF drawing or something. There are a few shapes that I can still interact with but very few. I've tried opening other designs and they seem to be working fine. I can draw new objects on the design and can interact with and delete them without a problem. Is there something obvious I am missing that would cause this to happen? Nothing in the navigation window seems out of the ordinary. I've tried clicking on different layers and changing the layer settings but nothing helps. I'm hoping someone can help me because I am kind of freaking out over this.
