  1. You can double-click the wall to enter reshape mode and adjust from there.
  2. Ping results. Will check tonight if the export works - thank you
  3. Hi Andrew please let me know if you need me to do anything else to help thanks
  4. Hi Andrew see attached thank you
  5. Hi Andrew - see attached thank you
  6. Hi Jim same issue from work Being education we do not have Service Select so I can't test that
  7. Will test tomorrow at work and post on here thanks
  8. Thanks Jim no Firewall here and I never heard of LittleSnitch
  9. Trying to export to web and I get the attached error. My internet connection is fine at home with no restrictions. Could someone check this please? thank you
  10. +1 for C4DCafe and they have links to lots of tutorials which I would highly recommend. In fact I believe that is your best starting point. One invaluable plugin (I can't live without it) is Seamilar. Body Paint is overly complex and frankly out-of-date even with the awful recent update. A few bucks for Seamilar to UV Map your mesh (after converting to quads).
  11. Ok so after moaning about Sub-D texturing I would like to say that the multiple view option is great. Thank you this is an incredible time saver and will help us a lot
  12. Not sure about others I can only speak for myself. The Sub-D tool gets better each year but if the forum is any evidence its not being used. There is no point in building a rolls royce engine if you neglect the bodywork. For interior design I see nothing in the upgrade so far apart from a couple of shaders. I hope I am wrong. Interestingly the best things for us are a UK office and more attention being paid to Education (still a long way to go to catch up with others). These things far outstrip 2018 so far. No texture mapping, tris on export, stair tool confusing and at times unworkable and lots of small things that need fixing. The issue I now have is that I can't really complain given that our shiny new UK office agreed to education being free. Thanks to their support and of course yours.
  13. No texture mapping options mentioned so I guess that repeat textures or textures with patterns are pointless on Sub-D objects? Please say you have something up your sleeve on this one otherwise its pretty useless again.
  14. Looks good in the glossy video and makes some big claims. I am looking forward to having a good play around with it.
  15. There are two routes with ARKit (iOS) and ARCore (Android). Both of these will enhance my current work but I will not lose the experience gained. You put your assets (building and interior objects) into Unity3D and create the AR from there Your students will be able to texture interiors and then create the AR project in Unity3D via .fbx from VW
  16. thanks. VW to Unity3D I use the Vuforia SDK with Unity and even though it was a 3-day slog to get it all in place I can honestly say its a 20 min job now. There is no coding it really is just a drag and drop exercise for the most part. I have now included touch events such as scale and move (Android) and once again it was a simple exercise. I started here: http://www.justapixel.co.uk/how-to-make-an-ar-app-in-5-minutes-with-unity-and-vuforia/ Its a bit out-of-date but for the most part you can work it out. Anyone who wants to give it a try then feel free to ask if you get stuck (happy to help)
  17. That would be helpful but surely a lot of work to set up and then manage. I would have my doubts that this would be worth the effort but then I do not know the size of the UK market. Does it happen elsewhere?
  18. Yes and staffed by lots of nice people. I have been in touch with them recently over licensing and they are super helpful.
  19. I understand not everything is implemented in prorender due to the core rewrite so it's a case of waiting for r20 I really found the reflective channel overly complex and confusing. The integration with substance painter is painful and throw in the poor additions to BP and .......
  20. Given that I teach students this is an awful addition. I will have to work my way through an ocean of emojis
  21. This AR work is the new sports hall that is being built where I work. For those who don't know AR then you can go all around the building and even inside just by walking around with you phone. I will post a video at some point.
  22. Yes it comes along for the ride but why C4D? (its an fbx export)
  23. One of the interesting things is that when you take the .fbx into Unity a C4D camera is part of the fbx.
  24. I started looking at VR stuff about 2 or 3 weeks ago and then last week got sidetracked with AR. Apple have announced their ARKit and Google their ARCore so I made the decision to look into it and park VR for now. The image attached is nice and simple and its me looking through my phone (android) at my iPad (which hold the target image). I have not worked out how to take screenshots yet so its an image of me doing it. The image is 4-walls and a window taken directly from VW (fbx) into Unity3D and it worked perfectly. I am happy to answer questions on this and tomorrow I will be working on a much more complex building which should be interesting The other images are the walls in VW and the target image. Note that the target image is intelligent and returns data that I can process (I have to work that out yet). The target image is going to be used for sports building later on.
