  1. Does anyone know where the "Re-gen Plugins" command went in VWA10?
  2. I've created about 100 custom symbols that are stored in folders within a file called Master Symbol Library. I reference these symbol folders into my working files and every time I need to make a change to one of these symbols, I go back to Master Symbol Library to make the revision and then update the workgroup reference to globaly change the symbols. This worked perfectly from VW8 through VWA9.5. It doesn't seem to be working too well in VWA10. Set to view thumbnails, the Resource Browser goes berzerk when scrolling through referenced symbol folders. This does not happen when symbols are native to the working file, only when the symbols and their respective folders are referenced. Nor does it happen when the browser is set to view a listing rather than thumbnails. When I click on the scroll bar of the Resource Browser, the scroll takes on a life of its own as well as the scroll of the open document. Both start dancing up and down making it almost impossible to select a symbol until you click out of View as Thumbnails and switch to View as List. I hope all of this makes sense. Has anyone else encountered this problem? I really enjoy using the Thumbnails feature of the Resource Browser and hope something can be done to fix this problem. VWA10 WinXP Pro P4 1.4ghz 512 MB Ram
  3. Forgot about that feature. Thanks.
  4. Would it be possible to add the field "User Since:_____" to our user profiles for this board? Just like the America Express card. It has little to no relevance at all to what we do here, but it would make us feel special.
  5. Here goes my rant..... I have a topic that I'm SURE no one else has ever discussed. No doubt this will be a new groundbreaking issue for the VW development team to tackle. Hatch. I dread having to create custom hatches within VW. It's a waste of time. In VW I'm forced to create unique hatches via the process of entering layer upon layer of co-ordinates, start points, dash factors and repeats. Most of the time it feels like I'm troubleshooting the hatch process even though I've used it dozens of times. It gives me AutoCad flashbacks. I've been using VW since v8 and I'm now using v10 and it seems as though giving us the plug-in tool that creates that bell tower thingy took presidence over an efficient and effective hatch creation tool. I'd appreciate it if you would take a poll to find out how many times the Campanile object has actually been used and how many people have thrown their monitor out the window while creating a hatch. I'm sure you'll find the results most intruiging. I therefore officially add the following to the Wish List, crossing my fingers and toes that it will make at least the 10.5 release: A re-vamped hatch creation tool using vector-based objects rather than lines. Thank you for your time.
  6. As noted in my first post, Quicktime 6.0.
  7. Fresh Quicktime 6.0 downloads with Typical and Custom re-installations still result in the same error message.
  8. Every time I open VWA 10 I get the following message: "Unable to create a resource preview image. Quicktime may be corrupt or memory may be low. Try re-installing Quicktime 4.1 or later." The funny thing is my memory resources are just fine and I'm runnung a clean install of Quicktime 6.0. Any ideas? VWA 10 P4 1.4gHz 512 Ram XP Pro
  9. It would a huge bonus if we had the option to map the auto-save backup files to a location of our own choice rather than the active file's folder.
  10. With version 10, is it possible to map the backup folder that is automatically created to a different location?
  11. I'm using v10 and the concept of merging classes and layers is a great one. Too bad nothing happens after you click OK..... Any ideas?
  12. I'm using VWA v10 and was wondering if there's a way to scroll through the classes as you would the current layers while using CTRL+ Arrow Up / Arrow Down?
  13. The upgrade price is a bit steep to consider an immediate upgrade. Any chance of a try-before-you-buy version?
  14. Any idea how to get text to show on a layer that has been changed to "Gray Others"?
  15. Please dump the VectorWorks text editing pull-down menu and create a tool bar similar to that of an Adobe Character tool bar. The VW pull-down menu selection process for text editing is a waste of time. The scroll-able features of the Adobe tool bar make it effective and efficient.
  16. I remember that bug. Not only has that problem been resolved but now that I'm using 9.5.2 with WinXP Pro, multiple large workgroup references supprisingly load in an instant and reliably in place.
  17. Switch to PC with WinXP Pro and 9.5.1 - Super stable!
  18. I'm using 9.5.1 and am having no trouble editing text as described in your post. It's not the best text editor, but it works. I'd chalk that one up to the file your using. Try the ol' cut & paste into a new file and see what happens.
  19. When using Crtl+O or File>Open to open a file within VW, the default folder is never the same. For instance, if I've opened and am working on ABC.mcd in folder 'X' and I want to open 123.mcd in the same folder, VW frequently defaults to a random folder to open a file from. Is there a way to set a default foler for opening VW files? VWA 9.5.1Win XP Pro

  21. This problem seemed to vanish when pasted into a new document. Although upon saving, exiting and reopening the file a few times, it re-appears. This is happening in a few files, not just one.
  22. No. This only happens in existing files. I'm not using a template and this does not happen in a new blank document.

  24. No one wants to tackle this issue? It's still a problem. Should I be going through Bug Submit on this one?
