  1. Paul You are definitely dating yourself with those 'dance moves' references 🙂 You still an expert doing the 'Mashed Potatoes".... remember that! That was like in Jr. High in my days 🙂 Uh, not a lot of action with the 3d furniture offerings on my site. I didn't really expect much. It was more just an exercise to 'do it' I am pretty sure it would be difficult for the average Joe VW user to stumble onto that area of my webpage.....unless I hit them over the head with it 🙂 No worries buddy...as I mentioned, it was just fun and interesting for me to go through the process. Plus, those 3d furniture pieces that I created are mainly for interior renderings...not so much for top plan views. etc.
  2. @VIRTUALENVIRONS....you are wayyyy ahead of me when it comes to 'twisting' 🙂
  3. "Lets twist again like we did last summer" !.... You would need to be an old dog like myself to understand that song reference 🙂 That said, I created two wrought iron Night Stands / End Tables and used the Deform tool on a section of the table legs... That tool came in very handy by putting a little 'twist' to the metal on the upper portion of the legs.
  4. @Mike_M...Well....there are probably better choices 🙂 We will see what @rikka offers up.
  5. Sure @Mike_M throw me under the bus!! 🙂 Rikka, I use InteriorCd xs, which is not the full-blown version, so I am not sure about all the CNC items you would need to be addressed.. I am happy to offer suggestions, but if you could post, or send me a message noting / detailing exactly what you want to achieve, that would really help. No guarantees, but I could give it a go..
  6. Federico, I really think you should. change the name of your company to "VILLA'S R US"!!! 🙂 You certainly deserve accolades for even taking on a project like that!! -Kev
  7. @MrNoodles well, I just went online with this last night, so pretty quiet so far. There is some talk as of late regarding a sort of VW Store, so perhaps when they fire it up…if and when they do, you may be able to post some of your wares. Or download items offered by other users!
  8. Paul My existing webpage is hosted by Wix. It was very easy and simple to use their tools to set up a little e- commerce store right from my webpage. All very automatic/ plug and play even incorporating the whole payment options, etc. You can quickly check it out at wix.com if you wish.
  9. Well….I couldn’t quite wait for the “VW Store” to arrive. So, I created a little Store environment on my webpage. No muss, no fuss. At this juncture, I am primarily interested in creating and making available some 3d Furniture objects people can utilize for interior renderings, which are not readily available in the VW Libraries. If any of you are feeling adventurous, check it out..I welcome any thoughts you may have. It is still a work in progress. 🙂 https://www.kskeys.com/category/3d-furniture
  10. Tom Ok, I see your concerns. It has to be a bit that way because of all the special control you have versus the native VW doors and windows, seems to me. As you mentioned, and rightly so, it just takes getting used to 🙂 That said, with all of this, did you get the pivot door you wanted??
  11. @Tom Klaber, out of curiosity, what ecactly is the issue with Windoor? I am pretty familiar with the program, as I have used it since way before it was offered as a third party add-on in VW. Not sure I can help, but if you post what it is yu want, that Windoor is not doing for ya, I am happy to have a look. IF you send attach a VW file make sure it is in version 2022 format. -Kev
  12. So...... A little bird told me that the idea of the shop is being discussed and may have some momentum. But there is a question about the viability..... How many of you would be willing to take the effort to upload content if it is just a free sharing site for VW content? What about for a split of a tip jar? And how about if it was a sales site (with a free option) with a split for site management? Or is this just something that everyone would like to be able to download from without reciprocating? Consider all this and post your thoughts! -Kev
  13. @Flair-Studio That sounds hopeful!! Always good to 'raise the bar' when possible.
  14. @VIRTUALENVIRONS HAHAHA....Really? I am shocked! Your forgot how?? I am quite sure it would come back to you if you re-immersed !
  15. Jeff.....you are sounding like a Republican...I would have expected more 🙂 That should get your blood boiling.
  16. @Francois Levy I would have imagined that other file formats would have been available for that data. Like .DWG or .STL, etc? Apparently not 😞
  17. @jeff prince Have you actually hired any of those folks you mentioned residing in SE Asia?? How did that work out?
  18. @VIRTUALENVIRONS Actually that rendering was done in VW. I thought about porting it over to c4d, as it would have probably looked better, but....I am trying to keep everything in the VW sandbox at the moment, relating to the 'VW Store' concept 🙂
  19. @bcd Yeah right....when the sun sets in the East 🙂 But, yes, that would be great!
  20. Also…..when you say you can pay 5.00 bucks to have anything modeled…are they using VW or some other software??….which if they are…same old issue with having to Import into VW.
  21. Ok, Mr. Curmudgeon! 🙂 I understand where you are coming from with your comments. The thought was not so much about the money, but rather just making nicer, better 3d items available to our VW family, so to speak.
  22. A few days ago I posted some 3d furniture items that I created inspired from some images which were posted a few weeks ago. You can travel to the bottom of the Forum Topics to the area that notes "Resource Sharing" which is where I posted a few files where I had made an attempt to create in 3d, some of those furniture items from the various I mages. Most of the items I created are perhaps a cut above many of the furniture items in the VW Libraries. A bit more detailed, etc. So....I got to thinking....it may be advantageous to have a sort of "VW Store" where users could upload their offerings and other users would have access to items that are a bit more refined design and material-wise, than those offered in the VW Libraries, with all due respect, of course 🙂 Items like nice furniture with more realistic and organic detailing than are accessible from the VW Libraries, which could be used in interior Renderings, etc. The folks creating and uploading these items could perhaps be minimally compensated for their time. Just like on a site like TurboSquid, except.....the good news...wait for it....:-) would be that all these items would have been created with native VW tools, so no reason to have to download various files from Internet sites, in various formats, blah-blah-blah, and hope they did import correctly into VW with the materials and textures applied accurately....in short....NOT AS MANY MESHES to deal with!!! 🙂 I appreciate meshes as much as the next guy, but they can wreak havoc when trying to modify them, etc. I am pretty sure I am preaching to the choir on this front! Of course I have no idea whatsoever how this would all work from the standpoint and logistics relating to Nemetschek, etc. Again, just a thought to banter about a little, hopefully with some of you commenting or contributing your thoughts and ideas to what I am pitching. So....if someone wanted a tasteful Frank Lloyd Wright 'Allen Table' along with his famous 'Barrel Chair' design....those kinds of items could be available to pop into a nice dining room interior Rendering!....... Like this!! I whipped it up over the weekend. So, let's discuss "The VW store"
  23. OK, a couple of things: 1) I attached a 2020 file that has my input...check that out compared to your file. 2) The layer scale you chose for the design layer was 1:1....basically never in your life do that 🙂 3) On your saved view for the 3rd Viewport it was set to PERSPECTIVE, Instead of ORTHOGONAL....that was why it looked whacky, in addition to the fact that you had the scale set to 1:1...VW pretty much hates when you choose a layer scale that WON'T fit within the page size....again....never in your life do that 1. 🙂 Also your text had a solid fill, as opposed to a 'none' fill...which is why it wasn't showing up. 4) I changed the sheet layer for viewport 3 to 24 x 36 and gave that viewport a scale of 3/4" just to make sure it renders correctly....which it did... Let me know if I missed anything. 3D Dims-Kev v2020.vwx
  24. @Elite Exhibits..uh, first, I am working in 2022 so I can't open your file. 😞 but...you could always export it to 2022 and repost? 🙂 Secondly, if I understand correctly, you cannot utilize 3d dimensioning INSIDE a viewport....has to be done on a design layer...THEN you can create a viewport on a sheet layer. At least that is my experience.... Can you repost your file as a 2022 version, and I can try to sort it out, then send it back to you with some thoughts??
